Question for all the bullies with sensitive skin.....

I'm going to get PJ a new food tomorrow to see if he's having a food allergy. He's got those lumps and hair loss again and I'm thinking it's the food. He's eating Science Diet for Sensitive Skin but it doesn't help at all.

SO what do you all feed your sensitive skin babies? I think it's time for a change here! (Don't worry, I won't forget to do it slowly

Did you know

I work at a vet clinic. Just thought I would let you know if you can find a vet that carries Eukanuba products...they can order KO from their sales rep. We do special orders all the time. Also, if you search for Eukanuba online you can get their 1-800 number and find a vet near you that at least carries it..then call them and ask them to order you a bag of KO. They shouldn't mind...like I said we order special stuff for our clients all the time.

Good luck!!

I looked on Google for you...

to see if maybe you could order it online but I still can't find it. I even went to the Eukanuba website but it's really slow. It's too bad you guys don't have it where you are because we love it! Lincoln hasn't had any skin problems since he's been on it.

We bought two bananna plants a couple of weeks ago, they were only like $2 each so we figured if they die, it's not a big loss. They're doing okay now, starting to open up more leaves but it's been really cold here so I don't know if they'll last. It's been in the 50's and 60's and at night it's been in the 40's. They are very small. I let you know when we finally kill them! LOL!

Jacob.....

When I said "everybody in town" I meant vets...lol. Guess I should have said that. I'm going to try and get some Wellness or something else first, even though I have to drive a ways to get it, but not much further than for the Science Diet now.

About banana plants....what do you need to know? They won't live where you are, at least I don't think so. Their are some hardy varieties to non tropical areas, but I don't know to how cold.

Just let me know what the question in and I will try to answer it!

You have to get it from the vet...

It's Eukanuaba Response KO, it's a vet formula that they have. It's kangaroo meat. That is suppose to help dogs with sensitive skin because it's an alternative source of meat. It's kinda expensive, though. We pay $50 for a 30lb bag.

Jacob said PJ is probably allergic to the chemicals in your yard...just kidding!

by the way, what do you know about bananna plants?

About the KO......

Nobody in this town carries KO, at least not that I can find. That is what I really want to give him because I knew that you all had such great luck with it. Who knows, maybe I'll find it.

Same problem--

I tried Science Diet ZD--antibiotics and hair loss pimples sore etc etc. Anyway we are now trying the duck and potatoe diet. Not sure yet if this is even why he is having skin problems but alot of people here use the duck and potatoe food ==i purchased it from my vet who also carried the science diet ZD.

strange but Madison loves it.....

Madison was put on a 6 week food trial of Eukanuba K-O. You get it at a vet's office. It is great because most food allergies are caused by the common proteins used in most dog foods...meat, chicken, lamb, etc. Well the proteing in K-O is Kangaroo. I know try not to think about it. Well, 2 years and counting we are doing GREAT!!!!!!!!!! No more baldness, or severe itching. The only thing with a food trial is you have to commit to at least 6 weeks if not longer. It takes a while to see results. I highly recommend it! Eukanuba also makes a Fish and Potato version that has had good results with a lot of other bullies we know. Again, a protein that is not used very often so there isn't usually a problem.

Good luck to you! Keep us posted!

We feed

Canidae and Fresh Factor -- not that Daisy has sensitive skin or anything. But her coat is awesome with it.

Also are you rinsing the shampoo good when you shampoo your dog? Daisy has some red bumps on her legs and the vet said to use a benzoyl peroxide shampoo on her.

I have the KO delivered at home

Our vet carries Science Diet, but he recommended the KO for Sunny, so we just called the 800 Eukanuba number, gave them Sunny's info and the vet's name, and they deliver the KO to our home. It's a little more expensive that way (I think it's about $63 for a 30 lb. bag)

Our PetsMart near us carries it too, and I got it there a few times. They'll call your vet and get the Rx from him, but they only keep a few bags on hand (ours anyway) and I had the bad experience of them running out and not getting any in for quite a while, so I went back to ordering it myself.

If you need the phone number, Carly, let me know. Sunny loves his roo.
