Question about Advantix

I put Advantix on Flora and kept her separate from the cat for 12-18 hours. It's been about 48 hours now since I put it on. It still looks a bit oily where it went on, although it is dry. Both kids pet Flora and then catch the poor cat as part of their normal daily life. They actually fight over who gets to hold the cat. Since the Advantix is so toxic to cats, I really want to wash Flora and get it out of her hair, since it is supposed to be absorbed into the hair follicles and it's ok to wash them with in on. Do you think that it's been enough time to have it on her so that I can now wash her tonite?

24 hours

We use Advantix. I don't remember if it is the package or the vet who said to wait 24 hours before giving a bath. It's actually absorbed into the blood stream, not the hair follicles, so I wouldn't worry about the hair looking oily. Good Luck.

n/m

That's OK, I ought to wash her anyway.

I haven't seen the first flea here, but already have had a tick. We have tons of mosquitos, too. No idea what percentage carry West Nile. I sprayed outside for ticks, but wanted to cover her anyway. I just haven't used the Advantix before, so am being extra carefulwith the cat. The kid's hands are everywhere on the dog and cat. Flora is really lucky that they can't pick her up. Poor cat stayed in the bathroom when I put it on Flora for the longest time. He was complaining. He ususally has a good life, though.

Can't help you on this one...

Since the one good thing about Las Vegas, no fleas...
