Puppymills
Submitted by admin on April 20, 2010 - 5:25pmI am pretty new here but this is my third bullie. I have to confess until the Cody Event I really knew very little about puppies being sold at pet stores. We got our first bully from a breeder and our second from a pet store (she was a puppymill animal I now know). this third one we got from a breeder. A girl I work with bought two puppies within the last year or so from a pet store and I feel certain she never knew about the situation these dogs come from. I even think her pups could be sired by Cody because they came from Iowa. She is checking her AKC certificate. I wish there were some way to expose these conditions and ways to educate people that don't know or even think of these horrid places.

Don't reproach yourself for buying a puppymill dog, you didn't realise at the time and you gave your pup a loving home.
You know now and you can be vocal with that knowledge.
All any of us can do is tell! (the best gift for all future puppymill dogs)
You may come up against resistence, (in fact I know you will,) I don't mean here! but the greatest gift you can offer puppymill dogs is to tell of their plight to others. When they run out of customers they'll stop selling.
Making puppymills illegal would be the ultimate prize but until then we have to rely on pricking peoples consiences'.

We're working on that on going fight against puppymills and we do get involved and have made a difference in many cases already! It is a problem and it is getting attention nationwide and many people are doing things. I know some have been closed, some suspeneded, some removed from any clubs,etc.
