Poor Bella is on " bed rest" for 4 weeks... my heart is breaking b.c.

today is the first day since I got her I had to leave her home when I went to work, as many of you know she goes to doggie day care b.c. of my long commute, we do close at 3pm on fridays for the summer and I am sneaking out a little early to get home, I feel so bad she was sitting on the landing waiting for me and I had to just leave her there..sad.gif but Vet feels she has a sprain or soft tissue tear and b.c. it's off and on she said if we don't make her rest and have NO exersise it won't heal, I know it's for the best and I know most peoples dogs are home during the day and just fine.. I just created a monster in spoiling her so she hates to be left home. I couldn't bring myself to put her in her cage.. but I am def on the hunt to get a " bella Cam" It will put my mind to rest if I can see she is just sleeping.. On another note, her eye I was told has a surface scratch and they gave me drops to use and we go back next friday to make sure it is healing.. So this morning before work I had to carry a 55 lbs dog down 12 steps off the deck, then completely have a wrestling match to get drops in her eye..

sorry to ramble..

Hope everyone has a great day

Poor Bella

Hope she gets better soon. it's so tough to keep them crate rested.

Re: Poor Bella is on " bed rest" for 4 weeks... my heart is brea

glad to hear about her eye, hope that her leg heals and she feels better soon, but---- you should crate her just to be on the safe side, It is harder on us to crate them than on them, but also safer and maybe her healing time will be less.

Oh mom!

She'll be OK. Try to get her some stuff to entertain herself, maybe some new chew toys, or a kong. Maybe you could hire someone to come and visit for 1/2 her during the day (make sure they know she's on crate rest). They could take her for a tinkle and hang out. Probably wouldn't cost you more than doggy daycare...

CHEESE!!

Sit behind her on the couch. Show her the cheese, use calm voice, till her head back put in drops and give cheese...repeat as required wink.gif
