Please help!

I need help! I have always dreamed of having a Bulldog. My dream came true 5 months ago when I got Spike. Spike is now 7 months old and 55 pounds, white/tan piebald with black mask, and very healthy. Now the bad news, I was promoted to my dream job 2 weeks ago which requires extensive travel. I have no one who can help care for him, so he has spend a lot of time in the local kennel. I love him too much to let this continue. Spike has been neutered and has had all his shots. I must give Spike up, it is not about getting money for him (however I would like to recope some of my expenses) it is about finding a good home for him with someone who understands and appreciates the breed and can give him all the love and attention he needs. I live in central Kentucky. If anyone knows of someone who may be interested, please let me know.

i agree

Someone here will be able to help you.
Have you contacted the local BCA?

Emily

Could you post a photo of him??

That would help. You sure came to the right place for finding him a good home.

If you don't know how to post photos, email one to me and I will post it to you. If you don't have a scanner, just take a photo to Office Depot or a place like that and ask the copy department to scan one for you and either email it to me or save it on a disk and bring it home and email it to me. You may want to call first to make sure they offer that service.

I think you're making a smart and very difficult decision that is best for your pup. And you have come to the right place. I don't have any suggestions for you as far as home options for your bully, but I just wanted to say good luck and make sure you find a great loving home for your sweet boy! Someone here will know of someone.

p.s. congrats on the job.

i agree....

petsitters are convinient cuz they come to your house and are usually not that expensive. I was a dogwalker for 3 years, and only charged $1 per walk!

Bryan, is there any way you could....

hire a petsitter instead of sending your dog to a kennel. This way you could still keep him and have him to love and live your dream with you. I just don't think that you should give up if you love your dog...I am sorry. If you have your dream job, what about your dream dog? Petsitters can come in and stay w/ your dog while you are away or don't you have any friends that will stay in your place w/ you dog? Good luck. I know this is a hard decision, but I would never give up my little man Otis. Also, the people on this board will probably be able to refer someone to you...good luck.
