I think it's probably fine to try the pumpkin, but I would definately check with your vet before giving Spence any other medications. We sprinkled Tylan Powder on Shelley's food;I don't know about the capsles. Good Luck!

Maybe I will try it. Maybe Ill start a new chat up top. I have Tylan capsules here, but not too sure if I want to give him that due to his other medications

Sheldon has a sensitive stomach. I've tried Boiled rice and chicken, but that only helps a little bit. My vet has given us several different antibiotics at different times, they all worked. Two I can remember are Tylan Powder and Flagyl. But, if Spence's diarrhea is from the antibiotics, I don't know what more antibiotics would do. A lot of people have recommended pumpkin, but we've never tried it.

Sandy actually recommended Papaya when Sheldon was having his poop problems. It didn't help one bit. I don't thinks theres any harm in trying, though. Does poor Spence have diarrhea, too?
It is the enzymes in the papaya (papain) that are supposed to aid digestion by helping with break-down.I am not sure about it helping diarreah.....I have taken it before I have had mexican food and things like that. Also bromelain from pineapples.
If you are interested in enzymes -Go here and read about it....it is very interesting.....I am not sure that bromelain and papaya are going to do any good in canines.... http://www.goodpet.com/library/pharmacyFiles/canine.asp
Consult your vet

Yep he does
It is likely due to the antibiotics.

Papaya..
I would think it would make it worse!
Didn't work for us

Have not heard of papaya
I have used canned pumpkin (not pie filling) to help firm up stools. With dogs fiber helps to firm up their stools so maybe papaya is high in fiber.
