are they destructive..or not??
I have a TON OF TOYS..lol
way to many toys..lol
and way more to come once my son opens his Bulldog box
but today I went through the toy box.
I tossed some that were too slobbered to matter anymore..lol
but other then that..
I can say
MY BULLIES..likely have the first tennis ball they got. they never bite them or anything...
My of the squeakies are out ..but that is result of the pugs not the bullies
they really are not rough on their toys..
the JOLLY ball outside on the other hand is showing some wear and tear..and it has only been here for 6 months..lol. that is Bella that chews that
but how are your bullies for toys??
you got alot of toys..or just a few they prefer to play with?
favourite toy here is tennis ball for Gus
and Jolly Ball for Bella..
wow..that was a nice thing for you to do.....
I think that is a great idea..
I bet the other bully thinks he found the jackpot with them..
they could care less if they are new or come from another dog..
as long as they can play with them..
that was very thoughtful of you to do that..
YOU could buy some second hand baby toys...too Gary..
they only cost a buck and good for both you and the bulldog..
I buy them..much cheaper and if one gets destroys not that bad..
I also bought some of the new type of toys that are destuffed already..lol. no stuffing in them..just a little squeaker in the head..they like those too
alot of the second Hand BABY toys..are of good quality toys as w
for a dollar a piece and then the money goes to a local charity when you buy them..anyhow at least at thrift stores they do here....
I buy quite a few second hand..
look for the ones that have rattles..
some baby toys talk when you squeaze they bellies...all the dogs loved these ones..
I have gotten some really good quality toys..and they are baby proofed so easy to give to a bulldog..
wow, i dont know if i could handle that...
when kibby sits and sits in front of the closed closet door or bedroom door, she will eventually start crying to let you know that she is still there waiting... and bully cries are sooo different from other dogs.. its cute, but sound like she is dying or something!
good idea about the baby toys... i thought i hit the jackpot when i found the petedge website that had cheaper toys, but you get what you pay for , she goes thru those in half the time, and it looks like a snowstorm in here afterwards from all the stuffing ! thanks!
My girls destroy any stuffie within five to ten minutes
the only things that have lasted so far are Kongs, Dentley stuffed femur bones, and another barbell shaped toy that sort of has hard rubber ends and a green covering over the middle.

I do wish stuffed animals lasted longer. It's so cute t watch them play with stuffies until the stuffing comes out and ends up all over the floor. Thank God for grabber devices.

Gus can take it or leave it
same with the other toys..oh well can play with it or not..no big deal
he is not a real fussy bully at all..lol
LOL the gang has alot of toys....of course gracie loves
loves loves her jollyball and the nylabones... Griffin loves to chew on the nylabones and some ropes...Sugar is not picky...lol

I have MORE then ONE bulldog that remembers....lol
MINE are the same if they know it is somewhere..they will always go and just sit there and wait. how smart they are..
I buy alot of my toys second hand for the stuffies..
baby toys are child proofed and you get them for a buck a piece second hand and if I am lucky some of them have rattles in them..the dogs love them..
I have bought the expensive double stitched toys here too..but they do not have the same reaction as a stuffed animal..
also the new thing is those stuffed toys that look like dead animals..NO stuffing in them at all..just a small squeaker in the head. both bulldogs go nuts over them
Tennis balls are like chewing gum..lol that made me laugh...
it is funny here though
the bulldogs never pop a tennis ball
the pugs on the other hand do.
have you tried a jolly ball??
kibby will kill anything with a sqeaker or a face...
we have gone thru numerous stuffed animals... it will take about 10 minutes before she gets to the sqeaker and then the thrill is over. needless to say , we have spent so much $ on these, that we are now trying to repair and reuse some!she loves loves loves gettting a new stuffed animals. she gets obsessed with them. if we put any out of her reach like on a high shelf , in a closet, with the door closed, she will remember and sit there and stare at the door- forever, until either eventually you give in or give her something else. she is a very determined white pig. she loves tennis balls too...
she wont touch anything rubbery, no fun for her.. half the fun is removing the "face" first, then she goes for the limbs.
we tried those super, supposedly non-destructable stuffed toys with the double stitching on the edges... but they are not plushy enough for her to keep interested.
i'll send a picture a little later, its like stuffed animal cemetary here!
yes TOTALLY love this bully!
I have had dogs just about my whole life, and my husband and I have had our own dogs for 18 years now, and it is just different with Audrey. She is such a special girl.

The best game is DESTROY!
Maybull loves stuffies. The first thing is to remove the squeeky. Then you tear out some of the insides. Then, a fun game of tug. With tennis balls, it's tug and chew. Tennis balls are bulldog chewing gum.
They like the bottle too. Just REMOVE the cap!!!
Wouldn't want them to choke on it!! Adults like gallon size milk containers.

Cheap fun!!!
wander if adult bulldogs would play with a bottle???....
like the size of empty 2 litre pop bottle..
have you ever tried it on a adult bulldog??
I seen puppy keys the other day in the petshop here..they are totally cute..
I WOULD say YOU CAUGHT BULLY Fever..big time....lol
I never played with any dog as much as I do with Bella and Gus too.
Bella loves to play and on the floor with her even better..
Gus is funny too
when he plays with Max...the pug..who is much smaller then him and they tug. Gus just stands there and eventually OFF goes Max with the toy..everytime. Gus lets him win.
But LONE behold if I am playing tug with Gus..he pulls with all his might..lol
I can sooooooo tell you love this bulldog by your threads. I would say you caught a good does of bully fever and it aint going anywhere fast... Bulldogs grow on you really quick.
glad to hear that you are having soo much fun with Spanky. he likely is back in second childhood if he did not get a chance to play at the other house he was at.. good thing you have him now to enjoy and him to enjoy you too.
what a great response!!!!!!!!!!!!! can see you totally LOVE this
what a lucky bully she is
is that ever funny how she has ones she just carries around
none of my dogs do the sucking thing but sound like there are more then one bully that does that..
that video is totally cute....warm fuzzy feelings watching that..
thanks Cathy
enjoyed this very much
We have tried a variety of toys with Spanky.
He loves to chew on hard toys, but we don't let him have them. We had to throw away two of the softer nylabones, and some other hard rubber chew toys because he would chew them until his gums bleed. He licks and sucks on his soft toys as if he is nursing them -- woobie style. This Christmas he also got a "Holy Roller ball" that he likes to shake -- kill it style.
He has a soft bouncy green ball and likes to chase and bring it back to me to throw for him about 3 times before he tires out. His favorite game is to play tug-o-war with the same green ball with my husband. Spanky tugs and growels and my 62 year old husband gets down on the floor on hands and knees to tug and growel with him. They are just hilarious playing with it. I joke that Spanky plays "estrogen ball" with me and "testosterone" ball with my husband.
This is all interesting to me because his previous owner (male - age 30) said Spanky didn't like to play with toys much. I think Spanky has just entered his second childhood, and perhaps we have too! LOL!
Audrey loves her toys
and how she treats them all depends on what it is. Her balls are her favorites, we dont give her tennis balls anymore because she is a constant chewer and it's not good for their teeth. She has her squeakers that she LOVES! She plays real rough with them and they do get ripped, we just replace them when they do.

Squeakers!
She has her stuffed animals that she sucks, (woobies?) and she NEVER rips them, she just carries them around and sucks on them. She has a puppy that she rarely even sucks on, she just brings him in the room whn she's tired. She has her BIG stuffed animal pillows, ducky pillow and monkey pillow, that she likes to lay on when she's chewing her ball/nylabones.
here is a pile of her stuffed animals(plus a few toys) she made one day...the puppy with the heart is the one she never chews or sucks, she just carries him around, and the all-purpose teddy pillow that can be pounced on, sucked, and carried
She has a yellow bean bag pillow that was my daughters that she LOVES to pounce on and dig in and bury her face in. She just LOVES this pillow. She never chews on it. Then she has her teddy pillow with the same bean bag belly she loves to pounce on and suck on his ears.
'it takes a minute to get teddy's ears in JUST the right position to suck on...."

Re: OUT with the Old..in with the NEW...HOW are your BULLDOGS wi
Well, there was a time where a stuffy wouldn't live to see the end of a day, now Rocco is gentle with the stuffies and loves to fall asleep with them in his mouth. Balls are his fave and they can only come out to play with Roc at certain times.

CArm loves whatever Rocco has or she will enjoy her nylabone toys.
Gina Loves the baby keys!! She is so funny.
All in all though, the best toy especially for the puppies is an empty water bottle. Kongs are great to occupy them
what is a WOOBACONG???..never heard of that..
I am actually surprised mine are great with their toys.
the pugs are bit more destructive then the bullies!!! hard to believe
they get so slobbered on and hardened with age here..I just toss them out here and there..
Hi Pat
Lily is the gentlest girl with her toys, she still has her first pink octopus wooby from 3 years ago, and Rocky is the toughest , hardest thing with jaws, he is destructive, so we have lifted all plush toys and he gets a woobacong, jolly ball, or his exercise ball, and a rubber tire so not alot of toys here,

I gave most of my late Otis's toys to another bully...
and Olivia reports that Hamilton is really enjoying his gifts. She said she put the carton in front of him on Christmas eve and when others were opening their gifts, he had his too...tho no doubt she had something else for him. Anyway, she said he was so funny to watch as he pulled out each toy carefully, checked it out, and then went diving for the next one. Of course I washed them carefully in the dishwasher (at least once!) and they were in good shape for "used" toys. My Dale is too old, her teeth too worn down, to be interested in chew toys, tho I saved a couple out just in case. Olivia said that Hammy's favorite one was the sturdy turquoise rubber one from Canine Genius.
