we have lots of good rescue bulldogs on the board.
many of them.
Josie, Pollyanna, Sugar and Rocky and lots of others..
thoughts a thread on their stories might be good to hear
and a picker UPPER..for this time of the year..
I DO not have a rescued bulldog but I could include Gus on this thread since he is deaf. alot of deaf dogs end up in rescue or shelters..so he well could have been if he had gone to the wrong home. NOT a chance with me..lol LOVE the guy way to much..
so lets hear some perk me up stories..
Here is our Mack
Began fostering him on 12/28/08

Adopted him 2/21/09
Family gave him up because he drooled and shed too much, ate remotes, and his nails scratched their hardwood floors. He was also scared of them.
I DO NOT WANT this thread to get deleted..so make SURE YOU OWN t

our Stella Bella
Well she isn't "technically" a rescue, but Stella was a breeding girl who was shipped to two different breeders, from what I understand she was pregnant 2x with only 1 pup in each pregnancy and both pups died. She was then used as a nurse maid for other litters. And then spayed and placed for adoption by the breeder at 4 Y.O.

We adopted her in October and cannot imagine our lives without her.
I am crazy for her and think she is the greatest dog in the world.
Our hope is to sell our current home and buy a home with property so that we can offer foster care to Bullies in need and help them find forever homes. We may take in some horses, cats and maybe one spitz type dog for my DD.
Tiffany and Stella
lily & Rocky are both rescues-now in their forever home- very lo
Lily was taken to a vet on toronto ontario to be put to sleep by her first owners because she has Cherry eye, and skin issues, the vet pleaded with them to let him contact the bulldog rescue there and they agreed, Lily was picked up the next day by the rescue out there, and placed into her first foster home, She lived with Christine & her husband Gord for the next 5 months, (Christine is a vet tec) so Lily got to go to the office with her daily, they got her skin issues under control, My dil Deanna got an email about addopting Lily, she then sent it to my daughter , I saw he and fell in love, I asked my daughter what she was going to do, and she replied, I am going to try and get her, I wanted her so badly so I asked if I could try, everybody laughed, and said no way dad is going to let you get a bulldog, he was out of town so I phoned hi got him to look at her picture, and he sadi get her,
![[linked image]](http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m389/ammamom2008/GetAttachment1.jpg)
I filled out a 6-7 page adoption application, had 4 people send in letter of reference, produced a receipt of money paid to my vet, and then waited, 7 long days. and the rest is history, the last thing to do was to spay Lily, so I asked if at the same time they could tack her cherry eye & I would pay half, they agreed, I went to pick my little girl up 4 days later, she was just a bundle of love , it was my first time getting the wiggle butt, she was so wiggly, she ripped a stitch and had to be rushed back in to have her spay operation restitched, it was dam scary, the vet that did thia was a big animal vet, he stitched her belly like she was a cow, with extra stitches, and then her foster mom had to keep her an extra 12 weeks to make sure she healed, the day before they brought her home her cherry eye popped, but we got that fixed when she came home.
Rocky was put up for sale in KIijiji, for $60.00 and they wanted his last vet bill of $60.00 paid, they said they got him from a friend who got him from a friend, and so on. All I know is the house was filthy, dogs, cats and kids everywhere, the floors i the house had no varnish left on them, it stunk to high heaven, garbage everywhere, my hubby said lets look first and then decide, when I saw him come from the other room it was love at first sight, he just plopped down in front of me, the lady walked away & I said to thedh, give her the money and lets get out of dodge, She was commenting on how very nice our suv was, how expensive it was, and I thought oh boy here we go, so we gave her the money loaded him up, oh yeah I asked if he had eaten she said no that she had put 2 cups down in the morning but it was still there I asked her what kind of food he ate and could I please but a few cups off of her till I got some more for him,----she said no. so he ate rice & chicken. He is my gentle giant.
what a doll baby he is..
love his markings..
what a cutie
