apparently they have severe ice issues on the lakes now so there spokesperson says. they are fine but in a no contact area and have no service..
the coast guard is on the way to get them out of the ice and break through it..
so that is the big delay
they are stuck in ice..
they are due to be back as soon as they can get out of the ice and then do some winter lay up and then they are home for the season.
well at least I called..and feel a bit better.
they are somewhere in some habour in the US. not sure of the name of the habour..but likely around Detroit is my guess.
so lets keep positive thoughts for the coast guard. this will not be the first time a tug had to be rescued out there from the ice and will not be the last
NO idea when he will be home.. but the bully box and the Christmas tree are waiting. as well as Bella too.
she said they get calls all the time from nervous MOM's lol. so glad I called and thanks for the support
Thanks Christine..NOW just gotta let the coast guard do their jo
be awhile yet before he is home here
Bella and I can not wait..
glad I got some idea now and glad that I called
better to know and ponder
then worry about it..and stew more..
now the wait is on..
and hope the coast guard gets them out asap.
wow Pat..
Bless you all during this trying and cold time!!!
I would of been worried sick too, I'm glad tho you got a tad piece of mind about whats taking him so long and my thoughts are with him for a safe arrival home!!
much bully love~Christine, Dupree, Marley and Savannah
thanks....the coast guard does a great job...
they have had to use them last winter one time too..
they almost capsized in the rough waters by Hamilton..
the coast guard came out to get them that time too.
Bella and I will be glad when this is over..
long time being out there for my son too
will be hard to celebrate Christmas..so late and will likely be another couple of weeks I figure for him to get back here
it will take 5 days to just get to the Sault St. Marie
once they are out ..
and then another few days back down to dock for the winter
and a couple of days lay up..
I think it will be another 2 weeks before he is here..
lot of time to get that bully to practice opening gifts..lol
So glad you called:)
good job! Now, hoping the coast Guard gets them out and he will be home with you and the doggies!!
much bully love~Christine, Dupree, Marley and Savannah
SO happy to hear this Pat!
I've been thinking about you and wondering and I wanted to ask if you heard anything, but I didn't want to "bring it up" incase you still hadn't heard anything!
So glad you are a little more at ease:)
Can NOT leave the tug...so NO.....as I type this ..they are wait
for the coast guard to get them out of the ice and start heading back
they would never leave the tug..for sure
and the barge..
so for now..
they just sit tight and wait..
and me too
thanks for your support
thanks Angela..MY THOUGHTS exactly..
the pooches are up early here
and looking for their smooches already..lol
they are sure hanging close this morning
maybe sense that I am worked up..
thanks Steve..and believe me that is not easy...
at the best of times
but at least I got some answers now
thanks for your support
thanks..felt kinda strange calling but better after I did..
good thing for the coast guard..that is there job to get the guys out of there..
feel better..but hope they get out of the ice soon and start heading back
good thing you did call!
if they are closest to Detroit will they fly back home or wait til things thaw enough to take the boat back?

Cathy
when she first came home
thanks..yea the icy is scary stuff...
the tug itself is very short
only about 95 feet long
and put a meter of ice on the lakes
and you need a ice breaker sometimes to get you out..
although the tugs are ice breakers and go out to rescue other ships on occasion too
the coast guard is on the way to help them out.
will keep you posted
So glad you called..
I am sending good thoughts for his safe return!
Pat..nice thing about being a Mom.... You NEVER have to
apologize for worrying!!! Your just doing what God designed parents to do
HE is in a bay right at Detroit or close to it.
they were delivering steel for the automotive industry..
IN some port there..
some bay actually..
forget the name right now
that is what I thought
the weather might suck big time there right now..
thanks..JUST GOT an update here...
we all need to do that..
the coast guard is having issues getting to them too..
so will likely be out tomorrow sometime...
the ice is about 3 feet thick in some places around the tug..
and the coast guard has quite a big job to get to the tug
they are OUT in the bay.and not right at shore..
oh well
keep MY chin up
and trust they will get him out soon
Good Mom
I thought you showed a lot of patience waiting as long as you did.
Steve

Glad to hear he is ok...
and glad you called. I am in the Detroit area and I can tell you the weather is dreadful right now. Hope he gets home to you and Bella soon.
Cheryl & Atlas
We'll think "warm thoughts" to help melt that annoying ice!
she said they are out in the water at the port..and food is low
not out of the woods yet..
but hopefully the coast guard can get them out today hopefully
I think she will call back later
thanks Deb for your concern
I stewed and thought and thought...
but glad that I now called
I thought the delay was weather or ice and I was right..
but better to know then not know..
had to call sooner or later..
been on my mind the last few days..big time
glad that you did call...glad all is well
hugs
