O/T We had a blockwatch meeting last night

We did learn about a website www.crimereport.com which enables you to enter your address and you can see all the occurances in your neighborhood for up to 6 months. It's pretty interesting that most burglaries are because of unlocked doors and windows.

Public records? Police reports? Crime reports? I tried the latter but they want a payment. Did you have to pay?

Big on security
I like security. I have an alarm.
I think it depends on what's in there
we have a storage shed in the back and my hsband is TERRIBLE about leaving the door wide open when he's done. I said to him one day, "Why don't you just put a sign in the front yard that says 'Come steal my S*it!'. Apparently there's nothing worth taking in there because no one's ever bothered.

its just stupid to not lock your door
but then again, we have a storage unit under our front stairs, very secure, locked at all times, we went away for a week, and someone broke in and stole our snowblower, so if they want something bad enough they will get it, even if the door is locked, so now we had to put a wider door to our basement and the new blower is in there and seriously updated our alarm system, cost me lots of $$$

you'd think that people would lock their doors.
I would be very uncomfortable leaving my house unlocked.
