o/t - Its @#%%!!! STORMING RAIN here in San Diego
Submitted by Anonymous on April 21, 2010 - 12:33amI haven't seen such heavy rain combined with winds here in SoCal in the past 20-30 years! There's a goodly amount of mud washing down my driveway, which will slope to the storm drain at the end of the block that then feeds into the creek that runs down the backside of my property! I've got an acre and more than 30 trees here. Luckily none have broken thus far altho we find branches all over, pine cones and needles. My cactus plants are in shock! Guess I am too.

I hope better weather is there soon. What is the coldest temp you have had this winter? Today, it got up to 77 degrees here, which was soooo much nicer than the 17 degrees we had Monday of last week.

we have a spring meltoff that comes down our mountain, when we bought our house we didn't know,it totally washed out our driveway, now we have a ravine and the water rushes down there, it is a beautiful sight, hope your trees stay intact

we are calling for rain here in Ontario for the next few days too..
supposed to be seeing snow
odd weather this year
very easy winter for us and NOT normal at all..
and rain is even more odd...
It's not global warming, it's global CLIMATE CHANGE.
We're having near freezing sleet and rain, which is not typical for Jan. in MN. It should be colder and snow, but NOT rain or freezing rain, which is worse than snow.
Yeah it's a bummer but we sure can use the water!
We're central CA. The farmers here can sure use the water/snow pack. It's hard to complain when we've had multiple years of drought.
Thanks...we're safe from mudslides but
my neighbors to the East have a higher lot than we do, but we sit higher than my neighbor to the North. I have a "decent sized" overhang out the front door and that's where I take Dale to pee...but the wind sometimes blows the rain down there too and she looks at me with a dirty stare as if to say, "you woke me up to do WHAT?"

Oh, I feel for you out there! We are half way thru an ice storm
are all upset as it has warmed enough ice is raining on the roof and sounding loud and scary. Hope you are not in the mudslide area and your home is safe.

Ela1ne, it's really bad here too...
I guess we can expect more when it passes this way from SoCal. The streets are already flooded and it's supposed to keep up until Saturday morning. They're expecting 5 inches here and our yearly rainfall is 6. The boys had to take their walk this morning with an umbrella! Chester hates the rain, Ollie loves it. Try to stay dry.

It rains 5 out of 7 days here in the winter...we are used to the mess. Good luck and I hope it clears up for you all! Its raining here again too
