Good thoughts

for Jorge, poor guy.

A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one Year and out the other.

Ouch - I've had those

And MAN do they hurt. I was lucky enough that they always passed - with a bunch of morphine and and IV drip. My thoughts are with your hubby. Did I mention ouch?!

My nurse said almost the exact same thing, she had 4 kids by nat

and she also a kidney stone one time. She told me she would rather go through childbirth 4 times again than pass another kidney stone.

Sorry if this sounds crude, but I thought the worst part of passing a kidney stone for a man would be when it passes thru the penis. But that was actually pretty easy. It's when the stone passes from the kidney to the bladder that causes the pain. The doctor explained that it's like trying pass a pea thru a tube the size of a pencil lead.

I had one c-section, one natural, and one w/an epidural

(in that order, and I'll tell you what-that epidural was NICE!) but with one of the kidney stones I was absolutely paralyzed by the pain and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. Two morphine shots and no relief later I just wanted to die. The first stone was not so bad. I still have one more, I hope it hangs around forever with no big plans to move anywhere!

No way..

I had natural child birth (back in the late 70's when we were idiots) and I had kidney stones. Childbirth was way worse for me. Maybe I had an exceptionally bad labor and mild stones. LOL

been there done that..

OUCH!

I had lithotripsy to pulverize mine. The codeine pain meds the doc prescribed made me sicker than the stones. 3 Advil took away the pain without causing the nausea.

Hope he feels better soon.

Best wishes for a successful procedure.

And a quick and easy recovery!
