I'm finally getting around to loading these shots. Included are some pics of the Chapel of the Transfiguration ... a lovely little church where I was a bridesmaid 30 years ago.

firearms aren't permitted in Nat'l Parks .... not yet
but they're working on it.
Personally, I'd rather keep firearms prohibited. Then it's up to the public to act responsibly.
I fear that firearms in the parks will result in the death of more wildlife and claims of "self-defense", when a logical/responsible person wouldn't put themselves in a dangerous situation to begin with.
Actually, I get most of my wildlife shots from pavement, near my truck. I don't have to go into thick timber looking for bears, and I wouldn't want to .... they pop out into clearnings now and then. If I pay attention, I can spot the opportunities without being in a dangerous situation.

A question for ya . . . do you have a rifle with you when you wh
what if a bear comes running after you while you are in the middle of nowhere? Do you bring a rifle or just a friend who runs slower than you?

Oh really? Well, you've never seen the Grand Tetons on Bourbon S
now that's scenery! Tho maybe not quite as naturale. Maybe they should be called the "Silicone Tetons" instead.

Eeeww, I don't want to read about "rack of rack"
vs. rack of lamb, lol. I'm pretty familiar with that story. Did it happen on that lake? Did they have Heinz 57 with them?

Gail those are breath taking
That range is gorgeous!!! I have been there and it is still the most intimidating range i have ever seen. Such detail, thank you for sharing. Tamsen
hey Gary.......google The Donner Party
and you will be surprised at what we resort to for survival. Sad, but true. The memorial at Donner Lake is as high as the snow was when they tried to cross the Sierras, 21 feet deep. Arrggghhh beautiful lake though, i spend my weekends there on my boat during the summer. on real calm days, you can see the wagons at the bottom of the lake closer to shore. pretty amazing that anyone survived. Tamsen (now you will know where I got my name too)
Thanks everyone!
As luck would have it, I met some gals recently who have a gallery. They have invited me to put some of my images there. I just need to get some printed, matted and framed for gallery display ... and see how it goes.

Happy to accommodate!
You're right ... scenery doesn't get any better than what the Yellowstone/Teton region has to offer!

Lovely colors... I hope you're going to print one of them large and hang it somewhere in your house. Preferably over the living room sofa. You are so drawn into them, it's amazing!

The entire Grand Tetons are in a national park?
I thought they were like the Rockies, just sort of "there." Didn't realize they were in a National Park.

Wonderfully beautiful! I've always thought the Grand Tetons are
most beautiful mountains in our USA.

And always .....Winston
Stunning . . . is that little chapel still in use?
I can't imagine what it must have been like for pioneer people living in that area during winters back in the 1800s.

I'm pretty sure it is ....
The front wall of the church, behind the pulpit, holds a large picture window .... so the Teton range is the magestic backdrop during services.
(I tried to get that shot, but it didn't work out. I need to work on my metering skills.)
