OT: Apparently I am running my own cat rescue now

SOme of you may remember I started feeding a mama cat and her two babies...well, they haven't gotten pretty comfy to the point they come to the steps if the bowl is empty! Still very skittish though when you come close. need to get them spayed/neutered and vaccinated ASAP.
I've called 3 rescue groups that help with feral cats...no reply. Would love help in trapping them and transporting to vet. I've never done that. My brother suggested getting them a big carrier to all sleep in and once they get used to it, I can set the appt with the free or low-cost clinic and hopefully close the door and get all of them in it that day...

We just went throught his ourselves... You can....

go to your local shelter and borrow a Havahart trap(I think thats the name) You put food in the trap and it triggers the closing of the door when they go inside to eat. Very easy!! Good Luck!!!! They also sell them at Pet Smart, but here is the link

Have a Heart trap works great

if you can borrow one from someone, put food in it. or the crate would be good, we used to have one on our porch for cats and put a heat lamp inside with a small lightbulb so as not to start any fires. good luck! dont get bit!!

Ya, but do they keep away ghosts?

That is the question!

One great thing about feral cats is they will keep away mice, ra

. . . well, ok, maybe not the latter. But they also keep away roaches if you live in the South.

Also, if I can find it, there is a great, and very inexpensive, way to built a cat house for them, one that will keep them warm and dry on very cold nights.

Yes, I know about them but would be impossible to get ALL 3, so

thinking if they get nice and comfy in a carrier for a bit...just close the door one day and they won't be TOO freaked I hope since it's a place they have gotten used to at least.
