one quick question about the new little guy..

the breeder mentioned that one of his testicles isn't descended yet.. how long before i can just consider it a lost cause [i had hoped on showing him, he is from a really great line and a pretty perfect pup otherwise] ??
is there anything i should or shouldn't do in order to make the other one drop ??

thanks you guys, you are all so helpful and nice!! it is great to have found this board.

good advice

i figured if it hasn't dropped by about 6 or 7 months i'll just go ahead and neuter him.
you're right, it doesn't seem so healthy to have that little lost one just hanging out in there

thanks!

I don't know the time limit but....

I bought my mum a Yorkshire terrier for her 60th birthday 12 years ago. One of his testicles hadn't appeared after several months (less than a year I know) and the vet advised us that he ought to have them both removed as a retained testical was very susceptable to testicular cancer. He also advised not to breed with the dog.
I have nothing to back this up just my own vets advice.
Julie.

thank you!

this little tidbit of hope is the best response i could get!! thank you!!

Mojo's just dropped and he was 5 months yesterday.

beautiful pupster by the way..I just haven't had time to repley properly....sorry.. he is a doll..ce

hehe

thanks!! i hope it all works its way out too, hearing that it might take longer gives me hope though. i was thinking it was possibly a lost cause..

He still has lots of time...

My friends boxer took until he was almost six months old before he dropped. The vet told her she could try massaging the area but I have no idea the exact technique. I will leave that to the more experienced bulldoggers on the board. Would be a shame if it doesn't descend. He is beautiful and looks very promising! Congratulations!
