I feel like I've written this all before, but do realize there are new people here.

My name is Patti Merkt, and my husband John and I live in Las Vegas, NV. Our kennel name is Lady Luck Bulldogs. I got my first bulldog in 1972 (similar story as Melanie's, married before,what my husband wanted).....My first bullie was the dam to my first home bred champion, Ch. Hotsie Totsie Tootsie, who was also the first champion Bulldog in Nevada. I started the Las Vegas Bulldog Club with a close friend in 1975, and have been actively involved since, holding every position, including Show Chairman many, many years.

I am proud to say I am the breeder of 15 champions, and am in the BCA Breeders Hall of Fame, along with my one home bred bitch, Ch. Lady Luck's Strip Teaser, OFA-32, who is in the BCA Brood Bitch Hall of Fame. One of Teaser's sons, CH. Tiffany's Lady Luck Special (Tuffy) was Winners Dog, Best of Winners and Best Puppy at 10 1/2 months at the BCA Nationals in 1992, which was a thrill beyond belief. My other thrill and accomplish was putting an obedience title on my Fluff. Although I had taken most of my dogs thru obedience classes locally, I had not competed in obedience till Fluff.

The last few years, thru work and personal related reasons, I have not been showing as much as I used to. I have been showing sporatically a male out of my Patch for the owner/breeder, Lady Luck's Bet on Red, who now has 9 pts, including a 4 pt. major. Hopefully we can get to enough shows this year to finish him.

I also feel I have been very fortunate to have a wonderful vet over the last 25 years, that we work very closely together. He has learned a lot from me (that I have acquired from knowledgable breeders), and he has also taught me a lot (which I then pass on). I am very involved down there, in helping right with surgery and other procedures.

Also I am involved with Rescue, being the Rescue chairman for our club. Presently I have a boy here awaiting the right home.

Seems like my life revolves around Bulldogs, whether my own, the club's activities, this board, or emails and phone calls from others (I'm on the BCA Breeders referral). I always enjoy helping others and sharing experience or advice.
