Submitted by DeniseG on April 21, 2010 - 12:32amIt is so freaking cold here today. My feet still haven't warmed up. Temp is 31 degrees outside. Also, I haven't stopped eating since I got here. Had to start the popcorn machine first thing this morning. Don't drink coffee so I had a hot chocolate with marshmellow cream. Making gumbo tonight, enchilada pie tomorrow and chili dogs with chips and salsa for Sunday. Cold weather just makes me want to stay in the kitchen cooking and then eating everything. Hopefully it warms up on Monday or I'm going to have to buy a new wardrobe!

I was freezing all day long, too! Went to town and had a delightful bowl of some of the best Texas chili I have had. Yum!! Tonight is single digits here....tomorrow may warm up to 30. At least we are looking at mid 50's again my Tuesday or so:-) Yay!
I am sitting here in long johns and flannel jammies though...so you aren't the only frozen wimp Texan out there!

I was thinking about you poor southerners. You guys just aren't exposed to this stuff enough to acclimate (or, to have the winter wardrobe!). After this weekend, warmth is on the way!

an extremely cold winter for us is in the 30s at night and 50s during the day. 50 degrees is a really cold winter day for me. It is going to be in the teens tonight. Hell, I didn't even know I had exposed pipes outside, much less I had to wrap them. Thankfully it is supposed to be 65 on Wednesday. I can thaw out.

Amazing how temperature is so relative! but we've been in a deep freeze here (Thunder Bay, ON) for about a week and a half. It's warming up today though -20C (-4 Fahrenheit I think)

It is 12 degrees here with a windchill of -11 to -22!!

We topped out at 7 here in Minneapolis. Wind chills were -30 this morning. But I'm not complaining... really.
