NOTICED all the skin issues on BDW..does your bully drink enough water?? how much?

I had a boston that was miserable years ago...very yeasty skin and so on.
I had taken her to the vet and so on..and in the end we did a urine sample that showed her flow was slow and that she was not getting enough water..not near enough. she did not like to drink water at all.

I also put her on California Natural and supplemented that with moist of the same type.. that way she would get more water..
she cleared up but it was hard to convince her to drink water. ended up being that she did not like the purified water out of the tap..noticed that she would drink out of a puddle and things like that. so switched her to water out of the tap and she drank much better.

not sure if this would help some of the bullies on the board
but maybe they are not drinking enough water

so how much does your bully drink??
MY bullies go through a minimum of 3 large drinking bowls a day here
but that is also the 3 pugs helping out..but they do drink lots of water

all of my dogs do not have any skin issues..

just a thought..

IT made sense about the water once the vet brought it up...we as

water for our skin to look young and so on too.
the softness of the skin in relationship to water is important as well
I for ONE know that I do not drink enough water.
I get lots of fluids in me but water is still very important
saw on Dr. Oz..lol that any fluid counts but my Dr. still recommends 8 cups of water a day
and know that I do not come close to that for myself.

as for my boston
getting her to drink was as important as the change in her food ...
I am sure the water played a huge factor
just posted this in case a bulldog does not drink enough ..it could be part of the issue

Hard to say

Mine drink about 1/2 gallon between them daily. I use stainless bowles, and wash and bleach them every day. I also use a Britta to filter their water. Here are 2 pics of Buddy The first was after licking the cup of a Mcd Yogurt and fruit cup. The second is on the 22nd of this month. I used Neosporin ointment 2 times and it cleared up. Nice and dry now. So I wonder about sugar and yeast. You can see the puppy has tear stains, in third pic they look better.

We go through 2 large (3 qt) bowls a day. Water is important, bu

the skin issues we have had are due to the type of food, and possibly household dust or chemicals. I use a steam cleaner for all of my furniture and floors now. For now, RC Bulldog 24 and a little cheddar cheese is working great. Ollie had head tremors, so I added a little bit of cheese to her diet. They both have great poops and drink enough water. Cal. Natural is not easy to get in our area. I have used RC for two years with no problem. I think our bullies are different in their food sensitivities. Our vet thought they were doing great at the last vet-check.

Audrey drinks less now on raw

than she did on dry kibble. She used to head right for the water dish after she ate, she doesn't do that anymore. The raw food is around 70% moisture.

Georgia drinks tonnes of water.

Not sure exactly because all 3 dogs will drink out of the same big dish. It needs to be filled 2 - 3 times a day, though.

Dozer drinks quite a bit of water..

And he really doesn't have any sin issues other than SFA which i don't think is really a skin issue per say. He hasn't had any itchiness, redness, ect.. And we just keep him on Blue Buffalo sweet potato and fish and lots of water but he does fine..
