There are so many messages, I can't follow the leads...so can someone tell me what's the groups final recommendation on a digital camera? I need one so I can show you all lil Lucy's antics... I'm willing to spend no more than $400.

It's a 4 megapixel camera that comes with a loading dock included, which not only makes loading the photos to your computer a cinch (just push one button) but also recharges the litium ion battery. Thus, you never have to buy batteries.
I love the camera, but it does have some down sides. For one, the LCD screen is hard to see outdoors, tho that doesn't concern me too much. The other is that the flash doesn't work real well just before sundown. It's not real bad, but I do sometimes have to use my photo editing program to add flash after the fact.
If you decide to buy this camera, get it from a Sam's versus a Best Buy or Circuit City. Much better price (about $70 lower). You may also be able to get it from Ebay at an even better price. Best Buy now sells it for $399, whereas Sam's sells it for $338 last time I checked.
My vet uses a Sony DSC-P9, or something close to that (I may be off a letter on that model number). His LCD screen is much better. It's also a 4 megapixel camera, not sure about the price, but i think it's close to the Kodak.
If you want a super photo printer that is also great at printing text documents very quickly, look at the Canon i850. You will not believe the photos it prints out. They are better than what i get from photo labs for my 35 mm shots. And it's very fast, much faster than HP's top of the line photo printer, the 7550 (much cheaper too, $136 vs. $299). It prints out 4x6s in about 45 seconds, and 8x10s in a little over a minute.
Whatever model you decide on, you may want to first read the consumer's User Comments on www.cnet.com. It's a great source of info before buying a tech product.

a Sony Mavica 10X. It was about $500 but I bought it awhile ago so prices may have come down. What I like is it uses floppy disks so to view the pics all I have to do is put in the floppy. Can see them on any computer or the camera itself. Can also delete any pic you don't like.
I use the Kodak LS443
