I adopted her from the breeder as a 4 year old retiring breeder girl.
That might be an option for you.

I am a little more nervous about the idea of a rescue than a breeder pup, but I do want to do the most responsible thing

We live in the Niagara Region Ontario. Where are you in Canada? I tried looking for a rescue in Canada too but found it very difficult and we ended getting a puppy from the USA. Good Luck

Where in Canada are you?

I am in Alberta and when I started thinking about gettting a Bully I looked for a rescue as well, but discovered that there aren't a whole lot of them.
I would actually like to try to see if we could get some of the Bullies in the states brought up here because I bet there are alot of Canadians who could offer loving homes to them.

Anyway, I digress.
There are some Bullys in need of rescue but usually most of the breeders here have a buy back clause so you can't find too many.

CUrrently there is one Bully in a shelter here in AB that I have sent the ad for to all the Bully people I know, hopefully she will find a home soon.

If you are in AB or close to, let me know and I will send you the info.

you go girl!!! That's an awesome decision and one you will never regret!! My fist bulldog is a rescue, she just turned 10 the end of August and we've had an amazing 6 years together showing in performance events!! Rescues are AWESOME!
