I will tell you this, my ten year old boston terrier has been under anesthesia most recently for a masectomy and she came out just fine. They bounce back really well if the immune system is good, I know it's the time under you are concerned about and I posted a question about this on the medical forum about age and anesthesia, there were some good suggestions on there so check it out

I had to sign a release at the shelter stating that I would get her spayed. I haven't heard from the shelter since I got her and I doubt I ever will. The second reason is pyometra. She just got over open pyometra and I'm afraid she will get it on every cycle.

Bella just went a heat cycle. Actually, at the time I had two foster girls Daisy and Bella and they were both in heat at the same time. Uhhhgg! I don't want to go through that anytime soon. So, I don't know if they ever stop.

And has become quite the couch potato!

Aw Jacinda! I love her face! smooshy and sweet! Glad she is getting such good care and doing well. dumb question.... do females ever quit going through heat? like doggie menopause? just wondering... I have a 10 year old golden, but she was spayed a long time ago, Chloe is spayed, my mom's dog, Mitzi is spayed... I guess no, but hmmmmmmm ???
