Some of you may know me and some may not as I don't usually respond to posts unless I have something of value to add and right now I do. Ive been on the board for about 4 1/2 years now (Sanford will be 5 in March) and have seen people come and go and have seen this type of thing happen before as many of you have. One thing Ive learned in my life is some people will get offended, no matter what is said, who says it or how its said. There's no changing that! All I can say on that is Build a bridge and move on (as my 9 year old niece so eloquently said to her 13 year old brother).
With respect to the recent post regarding the monopolizing of the board, I have to agree with some and say I too wouldnt mind seeing a little less of these posts. But it should also be noted that it shouldn't be directed solely at Pat. There are some other people (and you all know who they are) who seem to repeatedly post with PANIC in their tone the same types of questions about Food, Vaccines, Weight, Behavior etc over and over again and everything is a TOTAL emergency. And yes, while some of these posts may be necessary I personally believe that these people are the same type of people who talk just to hear themselves talk and quite frankly it can be pretty annoying.
We should try to remember that this is a site that was created to discuss the love we have for our bullies and ask pertinent questions that relate to their health & well being. Using it also as a vehicle to share our personal joys and sadnesses as it relates to new homes, jobs, marriages, babies and grandbabies etc is also excellent and I read and participate in each and every prayer request because I believe in the collective power of prayer so long as they don't become the main focus of the board.
I personally prefer to come here and see pic's of our bullies and hear fun stories about their activities and shenanigans. I love the stories of new bullies being added to families and puppies being born and I cant stop smiling when I see the pics and stories Kelly posts of the Carver Bullies and Jon Jon and Madi Gail and Cheryl posts of the Sittingbullies gang, not to mention Rods crew who we almost never hear from anymore and I truly miss our Grover and Miss Tillie and her many adventures with her loyal sidekick Camilla. I wwas thrilled Webbie designated special days to the rescue efforts of many of our members as I love having the opportunity to see firsthand and read some of the most amazing turnaround stories of the rescues (Baby Moses of course is the first that comes to mind).
I for one just dont understand why people feel it's necessary to share every last random thought or detail of their lives on BDW. That happens to be just my opinion on that. I guess what should basically be taken from this is that we should all try to remember EVERYTHING IN MODERATION.
Keep in mind that some people really dont care what you ate for breakfast, lunch or dinner for that matter. We come here for our bullies and I suggest those of you that want to share that type of random unsubstantative information put together a personal blog or use Facebook as your medium instead.
Ok, well thats my .02 or .20 cents for today.
Trish~

and another thing that is easy & helpful to all - do a search BE
you'll be amazed how much previously discussed info is out there and what you'll learn - especially when it comes to things that we talk about all the time, food, vaccinations, training, etc...

I do this and then I tend to email people directly with my questions, saves a lot of posting space
Well said Trish

Gail I may not always post
but I always, and I mean always look at your pictures. I love ALL animals, and your wildlife pics are just fantastic. I've never been to Yellowstone, but after I seen your pics it's definitely a place I need to visit at some point in my life.
Yah Gail...post MORE of those wonderful wildlife pix.
There ARE other animals in this world as cute as bullies...wellllll maybe....LOL
that's hysterical and so true!
Gail I do love to see some of your photography work and I remember when you first got your little miss Dubbie and I remember she was a little tiny thing too.
I find myself checking your photo's out whenever you post and often go further to you other photo albums because I really enjoy them especially the Yellowstone wildlife stuff.
Nice to see you.
So true
Main reason to join was bcause of the wealth of knowledge stored in the minds of these great breeders and rescuers
Some of the strangest people on the planet ....
are WalMart shoppers and dog owners.
Both have a tendency to get their panties in a knot over the silliest stuff.
I don't post like I use to. I'm not home enough as it is and BDW keeps growing. It becomes overwhelming. Now and then, I show a new pic of Dubby and memories of those before her ... and some O/T wildlife crap. Some people comment sweetly, and others make no comment at all (maybe they criticize it behind-the-scenes?). That's how internet forums work. No big deal.
I figure everybody has something that's near-and-dear to their heart ... Bulldogs, weddings, grandkids, hobbies, work .... whatever.
If somebody starts multiple threads each and everyday, I don't care. I see that those threads still get participation, so they are obviously suiting some even though I pass them by. What's the real harm?

Shelly and Helen it is your knowledge and expertise of the breed
that I miss most on the board. And also the many many other old timers that were always a wealth of information and encouragemnet to us newbies.
I agree Shelly N/M
