Congratulations to the Mama to be and to you also Judy!! I will keep you in my prayers for a safe and healthy delivery, and for very healthy pups!! OOOHHHHH!! I am so excited for you!!!
Of course, taking her temperature, watching closely, etc. is important. But taking progesterine testing will be able to tell you when it's safe to take the pups.

We haven't decided when to take them yet just keeping a close eye on her for now . I hate her being due on the 4th of July so many vets closed. Thank heavens for mine. He said he's work that day if she doesn't have them before then.
Now you are going to get me....I don't remember if it drops, or rises. It's just a change.....duh....like I said, my vet is out of town and so I can't ask to "refresh" my mind....(needs a lot of refreshing at this age..lol). Also, since I haven't had a litter for a while, I don't remember. Other than it is really a good tool to know when to take the pups, especially if you've had mutliple breedings and due dates.
Judy, Have you ever used Beard Navasota Animal Hospital? It is close to the BC area and the doctors there are very good with bulldogs. Dr Goodman and his associates are more than accomodating on weekends and at night.
Judy, it wouldn't be convenient if you are that far from your vet.. WOW....That would scare me being that far, both taking her there, and bringing them home.
We normally would do the testing on the first due date to have an idea. It can show that she is close enough (within 12 hours) that you can go ahead and plan the section. Sometimes their temperature might not be down yet, but the testing will give you an idea.
And of course, sometimes for days prior, they are fluctuating with their temp, driving you crazy wondering. Also, if you have a large litter, it is not uncommon for a bitch to be ready days (I've had them at 57-58 days) before their due date. But, of course you don't want to take them early if not needed, so that is when the progesterine test is very handy. When they are ready for having pups, the level will change dramatically.
Yahoooooooo Puppies
Congrats when are they due?
just wait, she will not be doing that for a while
Good luck with your litter, and get some sleep you will not be getting much in a few weeks.
