Mollys home - Update, and Questions..

Hi Guys, well her spaying went well, she is SO out of it, when we put her in the backseat in the car she woulndt even sit or lay down, I think it hurt to much So she just stood there leaning against the back seat, and fell asleep. When we got home and took her out of the car she went pee, like a LAKE!

So we come inside, and she goes to her bed which is near the couch, at first she went straight for the sofa, and we where like no go to your bed, well she sat in her bed and wouldnt lay down I feel so bad for her its not even funny. I'm here thinking did we do the right thing? Seeing that shes in pain hurts us

Anyway, so here we are we finally got her into the bed, shes laying between me and hubby snoring away, the first time in 2 hours since we have been home that she seems content. At first she was laying here and she was taking these deep breaths and her ribs where sticking out, but she stopped breathing like that and is breathing normally now. But every once in a while she will pop her head up and make this kissing noise. I dont know what it is?

Ok ... so these are my questions:

1. Whats the kissing noise shes making, - I thought she was thirsty but wont drink water..

2. When she is laying here and opens her eyes it seems shes awake them her eyes go to the back of her head, whats this mean? Is she just tired?

3. We are goin to take her out to pee at 10pm , usually she goes all nite without going til we let her out in the morning, do you think she will have to go again, or will she basically sleep through the nite?

4. If she moans every once in a while , does it mean shes in pain? If so is there something we can give her?

Ok thanks for everyone who asked about Molly and wished her well, I think shes doing ok , thanks so much everyone

hugs and kisses

Welcome home Molly! --

I don't have enough knowledge or experience to advise you, but I'm REALLY glad she's home and doing ok! Try not too stress too much, these types of procedures are done everyday! She'll be much better tomorrow once she rests.

I will try to answer....

eyes rolling back - just tired.

noises are probably from the tube irritating the throat....

moans - tired and sleepy.....
I don't think that means pain. I doubt she is in that much pain. probably a little sore today. don't give her anything....

She will sleep a little more than usual.

This is very informative

We are planning to have Lily fixed soon and I need to know what to expect. She has had 2 c-sections so I would think this wouldn't be as bad. I am sure Molly will feel better soon.

My vet suggested to give Monty ice cubes. He loved 'em.

If he wanted water she said only about a 1/4 of a cup every hour. I guess if the drink too much afterwards they could vomit it up. Hope she feels better tomorrow.

she is high still.......welcome come Molly

good news

She probably will be out of it all night, but she might have to pee. They give them a lot of saline during surgery and they pee a lot for a couple of days. Glad it's over.
