Male or Female

I have a question, I am looking to purchase another bullie. I have a male right now and was wondering if it would be better to get another male or a female?

Great advice Lisa! I agree 100%..

It is the luck of the draw. There are good males and good females. Most experts recommend the best combination is male/female. Personality plays the biggest role though.

TUFF ONE!

We have had a male for three years now and just got a baby girl a month ago.
I always heard the opposite for years that the males were goofier but weren't big cuddlers and the females were protective and really bonded with their humans, but I have to agree - it tottally depends on the dog,not the sex. Milo just NOW turned into a love bug after three years, you couldnt get him to cuddle if you tried, Gertie the baby, it's to soon to tell but she is such a cuddler and loves people and loves to give kisses. Both dogs are amazing, it would be hard in the future to pick just on sex.
It boils down to the individual dog.

Girls rule!

We are "owned" by a male. He's nothing but trouble. He never does the dishes until he's down to the last fork. Same for laundry. Toilets? How do you say "once a year"? Males are hopeless. Get yourself a female and the remote control is yours!

My vote

I would think that you would get which ever you feel the most comfortable with. Other people have said that females are so alpha, and not as loving, etc. but I have not found this to be true with the females that I have. I have both females and males and each individual dog has his/her own special personality. The differences in personalities are not due to the fact that they are either male or female.
Good luck in your choice, and please remember to use a reputable breeder.

Personal preference.

When I asked around that's what must people told me. Our first female was very aggressive. They said females can be moody, protective and to be loved when they want. Monty is a male and lover is not the word! He's so mellow, which isn't all dogs either. So I guess my suggestion is male.

I like the females

I've only had 2 bullies and only one at a time. They are/were both very loving and sweet, wonderfully so. I must admit that I'd someday like a male to see how his personality would be.

I just got another and it's a male...

he's starting to "mark" his territory though after about a month of being such a good boy (he's five) and neutered. My first male, Flash is one and he's neutered. I also bought a boxer pup before I realized that I was going to get my five year old bully and he's a male (he'll be neutered also), the lady said she believes males are just more loving and easier to get along with as females may be more independent and "alpha" like. I think it could work either way, however the female dogs I have encountered in my life do seem more uptight than most of the males I have been around.

I think --

you would have a alpha thing with two males more so than one of each. But then it depends on your male if he is neutered or not and age of your male and temperment. Either way which ever you decide just make sure he or she is healthy and right for you.Get a good breeder to purchases it from and do some work on picking HER out.

I vote for male

We got a female for our second bully, I LOVE her to death, but from experience, males are easier! She is just Miss Thing--totally alpha, and she's just not as cuddly and mellow as our male. Not to mention, we have had problems with her peeing everywhere from the start--I think she marks her territory, honestly! It really doesn't matter what you decide, you'll love him or her either way

Love them Bullies!

Ok is it....

because of preference or because of dominance issues.
