Maddox is back from the vets

Not great news. Creatinine level is higher than it was just last week. Not a big jump, but combining the loss of appetite, vomiting, and now I am noticing more drinkng of water, and urinating more, his concentration of the urine is low, big volumes of output. Vet doesn't like this and neither do I I have lost three due to kidney failure and I am very worried and crying. Took Xrays no blockage, but alot of gas. Didn't or wouldn't eat for them either, but when I brought him home he did eat a can of the prescription food they sent for him. Have to bring him back on Wednesday for more blood work and urinalysis. The only thing different for him is that he was on durmax for pain last week. Any opinions are welcome and wanted.

Very Sorry. Rosie has had kidney problems

She was diagnosed a few years ago with having small kidneys for her size and her levels were high when they did tests. We had to put her on the SD K/D and she has been on it about 3 years now and we get her checked every 6 months and has all been normal! I'm sending good thoughts and prayers your way!

Maddox has only been sick for a few days(long)

we went away for Christmas and he slipped on the porch during the rain and hurt his hip. The vet put him on Duramax and soon after that he started vomiting, he hasn't really been eating well lately, I just though that he was being finicky, since I have to feed one of the other dogs wet food, but for the past two days, he hasn't touched his food, unless I almost force him to eat, he will eat just a bit and then start spitting it out of his mouth. He has had loose stools I just thought it was due to the meds. His creatinine level was a little elevated, he is putting out alot of urine, not very concetrated either. He got me up at 4:30 this morning, whch he never does. I did notice that he has been drinking a little bit more than usual too. All these point to kidney problems. I did look up the side effects of the duramaxx and it did say kidney and liver problems. Took him to the vets today they did bloodwork, xrays, which showed alot of gas in his intestines. They put him on ent diet, and gave him something for the vomiting. I took him home and he did eat a whole can of food tonight and no more vomiting. I have lost three of my sharpei to kidney failure so I am very worried, although my Daughter reminded me that my Angel who is 10 had high cratinine levels at some point. Maybe it's the food change that I started in combination with the duramaxx, I dont know but please send prayers for him, I don't know what I will do if i s his kidneys. He is only 6 years old. Thanks everyone.

HOw long has he been sick??

Is it possible that his renal function is elevated d/t his vomiting, and possibly dehydration?
