LUMP near breast....sooo worried!!!

I've been somewhat of a silent member on the board... I'm on everyday reading all your posts, enjoying all the gorgeous pictures and value all of your advise and information you offer. I have gained a lot of knowledge and now need your help with my baby...

I have an eight year old female, her name is Sweetie. Yesterday I discovered a lump inside her skin the size of a pea and is hard near one of her breasts. I am frantic and worried like crazy...my heart was pounding when I found it!! I made a visit with the vet, but he can't take me until tomorrow morning. I could really use all of your experienced advise and insight on what this could be. I'm so scared it could be something harmful to her. Please help!!! Thank you in advance.

Thinking of you and Sweetie!

Vickie,

I don't have any experience with this (Sweet Pea is only a year old) but I just wanted to let you know that I will keep you and Sweetie in my prayers!

wow 8 years old --you are a great bullie mom

The love of bullies is strong here..and by you also to have your girl for 8 years..bullies have a hard time in life and you sure have done well.....Prayers will be with you....Good Luck

I'm glad she is going to the vet..

that's where the best Knowledge for her will come from because of the hands on...howeverI know my neighbors female had a lump..it wasn't real hard sorta squishy..and it turned out to be a non threating mammory tumor...and our little G.pig has one now to...
they are not uncommon in animals of all sorts of species...keep the faith..and my prayers for a good report...hugs to you and yours...ce

Vickie...

Of course it is very hard not to worry....all I can offer is my support and prayers that all will turn out to be okay. There are a variety of things this could be, you won't know for sure until test are completed, be ready for anything, good or bad, stay strong, brave and most of all hugs and kisses to your bullie. Please keep us posted on any news you receive, I'll be thinking of you.

Good job

You did the right thing in calling for a vet.
Hope it turns out to be nothing my thoughts and prayers are with you

Re: LUMP near breast....sooo worried!!!

I know it easier said than done but you already made the appointment and that is all youcan do. About 6 month ago we found a lump the size of a 1/2 golf ball on lil Angus right hip. When I took him in the Dr. said it was some kind of a bite. We were so worried but it happens when they are out playing. Hang in there!!!!

Send you hugs and well wishes

please be sure and post tomorrow after the vet visit, she is already added to my prayer list.

I have no idea, but...

my thoughts are with you as well. So many people in need of collective good thoughts and prayers this morning! Good luck to you and Sweetie. I hope its nothing. Please keep us posted!

Thoughts are with you

Please keep us in touch and good luck to you. I wish I had some advise but I dont I am sorry.

No, I think it helps.

I believe that spaying early in life reduces risk of breast cancer in dogs. So good job! I hope it is OK!

Worried Bully Mommy :-(

Thank you everyone for your wishes and prayers...Sweetie and I can use all that we can get. I have terrible knots in my stomach not knowing what it could be...I'm so afraid it could be something bad. I won't know what to do. Our appointment is at 10:30AM (Central time), we are in Houston, TX. We still have 20 hours before we see the vet...I will post after our visit. Thanks again.

Re: Good job finding it!

Yes, she is spayed. I happened to notice it as she was laying next to me on the couch last night as I was rubbing her belly. Which she gets a daily dose of (she doesn't accept anything less than a once a day belly rub), so I don't think it's been there very long or I would've seen it. Do you think her being spayed has anything to do with the lump? I'm going crazy here, with knots in my stomach!

Good job finding it!

I am sure you are worried, but thank goodness you found it. You must be a great mom! I am sure the vet will give you some guidance tomorrow. Is she spayed? Will keep her in our prayers.
