I'll post this on the medical board too.
I have noticed Gertie has a good size lump on the lower back of her head. (that just came in the last day) Milo once had this on his cheek when he was a young pup and it was the size of a golf ball and I think the vet said it was some type of calcium build up, they gave him a shot and it went away a few days later.. Is this what it is ?
Yup..that's what happened to Nigel..but I took him back to the v
I am a very crazy mom when anything looks fishy on my boy..and I know you are the same way!!
Site injection reaction
That could be what it is. Talk to the vet, tell them where it is. It can take from 1-4 weeks before a reaction appears. Most vets give the same vaccine in the same place on every dog so if there is a reaction, they know to which vaccine.
In the meantime, apply a warm compress 2x daily to help stimulate blood flow. The lump should start going down.
actually, it was located on Nigel's back..
again, if you have any doubts, take Gertie to the vet.
Lisa, did Gertie get a shot from the vet in that area?
That's what happened to Nigel..I panicked and went back to the vet and the vet said it was from the shot and should clear up in a week..and it did..
IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBTS, take that sweet baby to the vet and have it checked.
Thank you
Im much releived - I'll call the vet and double check with her today..
Thanks guys!
Yes she did get a shot there...
She got her 10week shots on Thursday but it seems like it took a day to develop - is that what happened to Nigel too?!
Thanks!
