Our little Daisy continues to improve and today they are taking her off of oxygen. The vet expects her to come home tomorrow. We are thrilled that she is better and will be coming home although we are still worried for the future. The vets all say she has a hypoplastic trachea and it seems like they expect future breathing problems. She is not even 10 weeks old yet. Anyway, we need to get her home and past this pneumonia and then we will figure out what we have to do to help keep her healthy.
Re: Little Daisy Update

Happy News!
I am thrilled for all of you - what a happy homecoming this will be!!
I am very happy for the good news,
and one step at a time. She is a fighter so I bet you will get to address options for a healthy long life. Go Daisy!! J &T
Oops, forgot tonight's update.
Sorry, after going to the hospital, walking mama and then talking on the phone with everyone so concerned about our Daisy I forgot dinner tonight and to post tonight's update. Daisy will be coming home in the morning!!! We are so, so happy to have her coming home. We debated upon bring her home tonight but she just got taken off oxygen earlier today and her 02 saturation was still a little on the low side. With everything that has happended to our little cutie pie, after talking with both the critical care and medicine vets, we decided to keep her in overnight for a couple more doses of IV antibiotics. Tomorrow morning will be here soon and we can't wait to have everyone back together again!!! Thanks again for your prayers and well wishes, I'm sure it helped get our little Daisy back home with us!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the info
I am hoping it won't come to her needing surgeries but of course we will do whatever is needed if it helps her. We are going to take her for a follow up appointment in a week with a bulldog specialist. I am sure her vets are great at the hospital, but for long term care I am definitely going to stick with a vet that is expert in bully care.
My Spike
had breathing problems when he was as little as Daisy. They said that he wouldn't have a great life. Well, two surgeries later, and Spike runs and plays. He tires easily, but he knows his limits. The summer is not great for him. He is out in the early morning, and then inside with the a/c all day. He does great though and he is absolutely my heart! I look at him and melt. He is much more active now, and and they say that his trachea isn't all that small as he has grown. He had his palate trimmed twice.
wonderful news!.....
hope she's home soon and in your arms. i will continue to keep her in my prayers......
Thanks everyone!!!
Thanks again everyone! We are going to visit in the hospital to see if just maybe she can come home tonight. If not tonight the vet is confident tomorrow is the day! I will update when we get back.
Thank you!
Thank you Phyllis! It is a small world, lol. The breeders have been super great with us and have been checking in on our little sweetheart everyday to make sure she is doing okay and giving us advice on how to proceed. I think I would have been an even bigger nervous wreck without their daily advice. I am not sure if you read my other posts but the mama had bulldog head tremors also that day and I was scared like you wouldn't believe so we rushed mama to the hospital also. Once we were there and got mama seen by the ER vet we called the breeders and they explained to us what it was and I felt so much better. I actually felt better talking to them about what the bulldog tremors were than the ER vet because I knew they had a lot of experience with it. They have let us know we can call them 24/7 if we need help and believe me that is very important to us, we have so many questions. All we want is our two girls home with us, happy, healthy and all together!!!!! Our two bullies are the cutest pair, puppy and mama, we just want to finally get little Daisy home so we can be together again, it's not the same without her. We are going to the hospital to go visit and see if maybe she is okay to come home tonight. I took off work tomorrow to stay home with her and her daddy took off Thursday to stay home with her, we are afraid to leave her alone at all right now. I will update later when we come back from the hospital.
Good advice.
Thanks, I will ask about it on the medical board when we have her home and settled in. I did a search and got some useful information. Of course we worry about our little Daisy, she is still so young and we hate to see her sick. We are so thankful that she is recovering from the pneumonia and coming home. Breathing problems are scary and I just want to make sure we do everything for her that we should be doing to make it easier for her.
very good news
what a relief!

Cathy
when she first came home
I would ask about it on the medical board...you should
probably inform her breeder also.
Thats great news!
I'll be thinking of you and hoping that her trachea grows along with the rest of her!

Good news!
You guys have been through so much. Thinking of you.
I am SO glad to hear that
I had a good feeling that she would pull through. You and her "biological" mom must be missing her greatly.
And who knows about the future. These bullies change so much as they grow, she may be just fine!
Wonderful news...I don't have experience with her
condition, but I'm sure someone here will help.
That is so wonderful!
I'm so happy to hear she's been improving. Keep us posted on her. =)

Hang in there
I am sure she will get better as the trachea grows.Had a pup with this issue as I would watch her little chest move in and out so hard when she was trying to breath. She is now 5 and the best breather in the house. As for the breeders of this baby, they are one of the most honest and caring people I have ever delt with. They will stand 1000% behind their dogs and they will be there for you through her entire life. I have an 8mon. old from them and as you know every one of their dogs are extremely well taken care of. Things happen that only God knows the reason for so I will continue to pray for Daisy and for your husband--this war should have een over long ago.
