If the people werent willing to follow up on eyes and hips and do the right thing for the breed then i felt they shouldnt be breeding the Chesapeakes. I no longer breed, just my opinion, also didnt want people to use them just to make money so when i sold them it was always limited and they knew this before they purchased a dog. Mostly duck hunters up here anyway which is what the breed loves to do! If it were a knowledgable person whom had references then i would consider an open reg. but some people just do back to back breedings for the money and never let the dam have a break. thanks for listening, my opinion sure you will get more.

Then that dog should be sold on limited registration, and of course, a drop in price. That limits people who just wanted a pet, then a couple years down the road decide may-be if they breed to that dog at the park, they think they can make some money back.
Or, when there are puppies that are not the picks, but pets (and just about every litter, champion sire and dam or not, have those).
I used it because
