Anyone have a suggestion where I can purchase a life jacket for my bulldog? We have a lake place with a dock... and I want to keep her safe this summer! Thanks- Mary B. in St. Paul

it but it will not stop water from splashing in their face. My dogs have no trouble keeping their head out of the water if they are swiming....they look like turtles with their noses stuck up.
The thing with a lifejacket is it is mainly to keep them safe out of the water. So that extra piece while it might be helpful while they are swimming will be completely in the way while they are romping in a boat or on the beach somewhere.
Mine rarely have their life jackets on while they are in our boat becasue they just get too hot. The jackets are pretty restrictive for them to move. The sides on our boat are high enough they can't get over.
Just depends on what you plan on using the life jacket for. If you have a pool and you want them to be safe incase they fall in then I wouldn't want that extra piece under their chin. If it is for mainly swimming then you might want it.

and ket their moth above water. I remember thinking that would be great, so gulping water. Does anyone recall that style life jacket for their bully? Thanks J & T

well I used my kids life jackets that zipped up (like up to 60 lbs) but still stayed in water with her and keeped head above the water. I think the pet ones actually are built a tad different but this did the same trick. If I bought one specially for dogs I dont think I would just let her go so why have the added expense? If you dont have one for kids laying around, then price some. Fosters and smith may have some??? She was quit funny swimming cuz she would only move her front legs. only would move her back ones if I reminded her...it was funny! Good Luck!

did you ever have to worry about him being sea sick? was he hesitant or happy to go? Thanks Julia, Grover will always be in my thoughts when I take out my boat. He is quite the "captain." Tamsen
I've always been partial to Ruffwear since the beginning. =)

Ajax has the Ruff Wear Float Coat...
We are really happy with it. I believe he has a size large, but I'm not 100% sure. Here is a picture:

We have a ruffwear large and extra large--love them! Look
on ebay. They are a little cheaper that way if you order online.

Life jackets
Our PollyAnna wears one when we get her in the pool. It is a "Outward Hound Brand" and we purchased it at PetSmart.

Who takes their bullies out on a boat?
This will be Josies first summer out on my boat. How does everyone's bully react to boating? Thanks for the info. J & T
