We are looking to replace two couches in our livingroom, but we must keep our Daisy girl in mind. Since she can't tell us what texture she would like her next livingroom couches to be, I was wondering if anyone recommends leather. We went shopping this weekend and saw Natuzzi couches (not white) ! and we really want your opinion on durability in regard to jumping on the couch and the nails on the bulldog (easily scratch the couch?) or punctures? Natuzzi has a five year guarantee but, in general, how does leather hold up when you own a bulldog?
Anyone?
Leather here
It's the only furniture I will ever have. Globber and hair wipes right off and you don't have that musty smell in the fibers like with cloth.
Just be sure to get a mid-heavy weight leather. The really soft leather will rip or tear from their nails.
Most furniture stores give between a 5-10 yr warranty against rips and tears too so check that out.
yep yep do it do it:) on my 2nd set now cuz I got tired of the f
it is great
Every day
I wish we had got the leather couches because the one we have now has slobber bunnies all over it and they don't come off easy.

go with leather
My mom's pug loves the leather couch. He hasn't scratched it and it gives him traction when he jumps on or off of it. It's a wonderful caramel brown and hasn't gotten dirty from the dog (and it wipes off with a damp sponge.
Covered also....
with a quilt or blanket. Norbert won't get on the couch unless it has the cover on it. Which is good if we have company. If the cover falls off during the day when I'm gone then he'll be in the chair (which is fabric, and NOT his chair,
but daddys chair.
Covered it with a Slipcover that I bought from Macy's..
and it works well..and I take it off when company comes to the house!!!
Wouldn't have anything else
it's so easy to clean and Theo loves it.
covered with ???
I was wondering what you cover your couch with? I am thinking about leather and covering it except for when company is here. What do you use? and is it working well?
Do it!
We have leather and it is fine with Rosie's claws. My parents have also had leather for the last few years and it has held up to 4 dogs and 3 pot-bellied piggies. So go for it - it looks awesome and is so comfy for people and animals alike!

Great Question!!!
I recently bought a new sectional and apparently the quality is horrible. The store has offered for me to exchange for something of equal or greater value. I am considering leather because they don't have anything else I like.
What about leather with bullies & Cats? My cat is not declawed.

Leather here..but I have my couch covered..
I don't trust Nigel's nails
Go for it!
We have a freind who has 5 bullies roaming the house at one time or another. They all get to jump on the couch at one time or another, and they would have nothing else but leather. We are starting to look for new furniture ourselves and think that leather is a serious option.

Thanks for such quick response. I was hoping you'd say so.
I guess it's off to the leather store.
Leather great
We have three dogs, two bullies and have a leather couch and love seat... The babies are allowed on the couch and it has been great. The black leather is 8 years old and looks brand new. It does not puncture. I highly recommend it.
Love leather here!
Holds up well around here, but they are not allowed on the couch!
