Last night

Last night we lost a puppy due to a Herniated diaphragm... about five hours before she died
she stopped eating and her breathing became labored. We immediately rushed her to the vet...
We were told that her lungs were clear and everything looked fine. As the day went on it became
worse.. again we went to the vet. That is when I was told it was or could be a herniated diaphragm.
A newborn is not a candidate for surgery.. She died later that night in Kim arms.. I can't tell you how
sad we are.
Everyone is worn-out... I forgot how tuff it was to have a Bulldog litter.... it's been a few years.....

autopsy

I think there are many advantages to
getting an autopsy. But in this case we
couldn't bring ourselves to do this one...
If she would of been older we would of...
Does that make any sense? I don't know
maybe we should of.

Rod, I'm so sorry

I had that in a litter I whelped for someone a couple years ago. Did you do an autopsy? The reason I ask, usually there are other things wrong too, that just didn't develop right, and there really would not have been anything you could have done for it.

Rod, that is why Bulldogs are a Heartbreak Breed

They always break your heart, whether as new puppies or old seniors, when you lose one, there goes another piece of your heart.

I think you meant Rod

I understand about not doing the autopsy....Just curious, and wanted to point out that many times when there is something that major, there is other things too, malformed.

Im am so very sorry!

Thats horrible to hear, I am very sorry!
Thinking of you....

It is hard to lose any heartbeat as Ce puts it-

A day, week, or several years old it is never easy. Again I am sorry.

KB

Rod..

Its the heartaches of raising a litter, you never know what to expect. I am sorry to hear the news and pray the remaing littermates strive.

Oh Rod... I'm so sorry.

I cannot imagine how sad you must be. I give you all the utmost credit for raising these little guys thru all the heartache.

Julia

So sorry for the loss of one of the tiniest angels...

...the other 9 will be in our prayers!!

Each one is so precious ....

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Thank you everyone..

Kelly,

I am just now starting to learn about it.
Kim and I have never ran into this before.
I was told that it can be fixed in adults.

But with a litter so big something bad was
bound to happen...

All the rest are gaining weight and doing
fine.. But you know Kim - she is a train
wreck over this.....

Sorry for your loss

Sue
