Vet advised that a shampoo with detergent will wash the Frontline out of the fur. Even though Arthur is an
Olde, his med fine coat is no more susceptible to
wash out than any other.
I use Episoothe on him 3 times a month, 3-4 days before getting next treatment, I use Scent-A-Way
Liquid soap for a thorough showering. It's antibacterial and deodorizing. Works great!!

Frontline...
Arthur swims frequently during warm months, and has at least 4 baths in between treatments. I use a non-detergent shampoo and we've not had ANY problem with fleas. Just going on what the vet said..been right so far. Never heard of it going into the bloodstream.
Good luck,

here's the deal

From the sounds of this, and everything I have been told in grooming, I don't see why a detergent would affect it any differently than a natural based shampoo....?
Lets all remember than when this stuff is tested - it is TESTED. I am sure they harsh shampooed to test. When I have time, I am goig to call them....

Not to butt in, but.... =)
(Butt butt butt...)
Grover goes swimming... if what your vet said is true, wouldn't that mean the Frontline wouldn't be as effective?
I was under the impression that Frontline gets absorbed into the bloodstream? Obviously you wouldn't shampoo the fur immediately after application, but I've always assumed that baths don't affect the Frontline because it's not the fur that it's "working on."
I'm just really curious as to why your vet said that.
