Bubba is 18 months old and has grown up living with both my boyfriend and myself in the house. However, my boyfriend is joining the Air Force as a pilot, we are breaking up, and he is moving out next week. I am a little concerned how Bubba is going to take his departure. I spent 4 months this fall in Europe and he was a complete nightmare to my boyfriend while I was gone but an angel when I returned. Bubba is definitely a momma's boy but I don't want him to think people are always leaving him and get a complex. Any suggestions? Also, please keep me in your thoughts as a new single mom.
Here's how sad Bubba gets when we are just going to dinner.
Re: I don't think you will be a single parent for long
she is a sweet girl!!
I don't think you will be a single parent for long
If that guy left you for the Air Force, he needs to have his brain unpickled.
Thanks for the advice :)
Stephanie - it was great to meet you, Derek and Angus today. Angus is a doll and he sure is "mr. social". It is so wonderful to meet other (normal) bulldog lovers. I have told everyone about the crazy guy today and how critical he was of all of the other sweet bulldogs. Chunks cracked me up!!! Bubba is actually full of energy since he got home. We'll definitely have to get together again and I'll keep you posted on Bullyfest. Yes, I am breaking up with my boyfriend but it is for the best for both of us and besides, I already have one special and very handsome man in my life -- Bubba.
Take care.
My advice:
Make new friends, like say in the So. Bay....
Take him to doggiepargs,,, like say in the So.Bay
Keep him away from CRAZY Bulldog Men at the doggie park, like say in the So. Bay
Spend tons of time with him...
Kim it was great meeting youtoday!! All the bullies were so cool! We will have to get together again. We could hook it up in Santa Monica.
I had no idea that youwere going to break up with your guy. I guess thats not what you talk about when you first meet someone.
Hang in there girl!!!
You have new friends in Derek Angus and I

Treats
One thing that you could try that works very well for us. Whenever Annie has to be left alone, we give her a good sized dog biscuit and then we make sure we leave while she is still eating it. That seems to get her mind off of being left alone and eager for her treat. This is the second dog we have done this with and it is still working. We also have a cat that keeps her company. We got the cat with the last dog so i didn't know how he would like Annie, but they have worked it out.
Hi ! I would agree with the above, just spend much time with him
and show him you love him with treats walks and stuff...good luck to you , your a very pretty girl
You'll probally have some of the guys on this board hittin on you with postin your picture.. hehe
Just spend extra time with him
I would imagine it would be like a divorce and having children. You just need to reassure him you will be there for him and take extra walks and extra loving to him.
