July 4th party at our place .... this is where we live

You're all invited if you can come. Lots of fireworks here at our place and we can view fireworks all up and down the valley from our hill. (We plan to restain this year, but it's not done yet... and you have to endure the visiting in-laws!)

Maybe you can appreciate how much time we spend mowing the lawn around here!

Our outdoor dog runs and the dog yard

Gail what a beautiful home you have

I am soooo jealous! I would love to have all that land. We have a summer home in upstate NY with 3 acres, but unfortunately with both of us working full time we don't get to spend that much time there. I ache to be able to live in the country.

Sue

Christine, trust me, your son would get bored of that too..

We moved less than a year ago. My son couldn't wait to get on the riding lawnmower! I have to beg now.

Gorgeous

Wow Gail, awesome spread and huge house. I'm sure you have a riding mower right?

I wish we lived close by:(

Looks like I see another contest entry with Pride.

breathtaking views

nothing but wide open spaces, lovely! How close or should I say far, is your closest neighbor?

No bears, no wolves close to us ...

and I know how to deal with attorneys!

We get antelope, deer, fox and have seen one herd of elk cross the grainfields in 7 years. There are also moose in the marshy areas at the base of those mountains, but that's a few miles from us.

BEAUTIFUL...........

Can I move in with you....lol

A dumb question:

You have an unbelievably gorgeous home. But how do you keep dangerous wild animals from coming onto your property and right up to your house? Like bears, wolves, lawyers?

It is so tempting to...

just pick up and move out there. It is so beautiful. How much snow do you have in winter? Is it continuous on the ground for 2-3 months or do you have breaks in it? I do think I would get some goats or something to help with the yard.

Wow..that's why your neighbors are that

far and you only have 1 trick or treater....lol I'm in NY where everyone is on top of each other..lol beautiful place...Being a teenager must be hard, try to run away from home and where do u go...lol

Our closest neighbor is about 1500 ft .... across the road

we are the last two places on the road ... nothing but grainfields to the east. We have 5 l/1 acres, neighbors below (to the west) are on 5 acre lots, so we're pretty spread out.

We've lived here 7 years and have only had 1 kid show up to trick-r-treat at Halloween (and he got the whole bowl full of Snickers bars). It's too much effort for them to drive that far between houses, so they stay in the subdivisions.

We did hold handling classes here a few years back ....

but that was before digital cameras were the rage.

Dogs seemed to like it here.

Gail, obviously you need

a live in caretaker. I actually love to mow lawns. When my husband and I first got married, I moved to NH to live in his house. One of our first "discussions" was about the right to mow the lawn. I told him if he touched the lawnmower again, I would run him over with it. That settled that. To me, it is so relaxing.

I think we could hold a dog show there

You have enough room for a big dog show on your lawn.

Gail You must be a real hard worker...

Shoot girl the upkeep of the house/yard and all your animals, must keep you busy all day. I just love where you live. How close is your nearest neighbor? How long does it take to get to town? Wowwee gorgeous property.
Love the pics. thanks

Verrry niiice! : ) a couple of sheep could help you mow.. LOL

.

WOW...

I am sooo jealous!! That is just gorgeous Gail! Wish I could come and celebrate the 4th with ya, but me and Jesse James will be in OR for shows!

Wow

Wow - what a gorgeous piece of property. And the lawn is so well-kept!!! Looks like a bulldog's paradise!!!

Wow, we had an acre of grass one time and DH complained

every day!!! Think of what he'd do with this yard! It sure is beautiful.

I am with Nikki

When can I move in? I will even bring someone to cut the grass.
Gail, that is a beautiful place you have there!

Jane

Holy crap---now that grassssssssssss

Gail your home is just a dream

Yes, this is our house

We HAD to get a riding mower when we moved here ... it takes waaaaayyy too long to mow it with a regular mower. One year, before I knew how to operate the riding mower, it took me 4 nights to mow it while Wayne was gone one week. I'd do a partial section each night until I got tired.

Can you believe anybody would WANT a lawn this size?!!

Holy Cow Gail, BEAUTIFUL......

I don't DARE show John, or you will have just inherited a permanent boarder.

Gail, is that your house?

What beautiful pictures. I wish I could come visit. Do you have one of those mowers with a seat. My husband just took my son to get a new lawn mower. He wanted one with a seat but our yard is not big enough for that.

wowza.....now that's a yard!

and very beautiful....
and I saw a very sweet little mug peeking out in the garden too...smile...ce
