...first thank you ... actually I didn't start out with any pre-conceivd ideas....I just picked up the clay...and whoever is in there just sorta lets their own little spirit out...using my hands....I just put piles of found stuff and little treasures...in front of me ..and just sorta daydream my way through.. I've learned that if I do have a inspiration to start with, the finished piece is never even close to my beginning minds eye... like with the dolls here,I had never workedbwith clay..and wanted to get a feel for it...I wanted to make gather-ers...and that was all....but also knowing they would be woodland images...the rest just happens... ....the pipe is embossed I love making papers from dryer lint,fibers..and many other things like grasses..etc..
...and the mirror was great fun..bamboo,and home made paper bits..with copper and silver leafings..then aging it with salt and beach which turns the copper greenand old looking in parts).all rubbed down with pewter glazing... ..I have sold some things in a florist and gallery....but mostly I like to just do gifts...things that I can do my way...with selling you have to meet someones elses taste or thoughts..I like to let my own mind wander...and then I usually give it to someone..who might feel it....or get a smile. I can tell when I have to make something..I get antsy..not a normal state of mind for me..and I just HAVE to busy my hands ..so I latch on to any medium I can and go into my own little world...smile...
hope I covered your questions...again thank you for your kind words...ce

Ce, I just knew that we had a lot in common.....same spirit so to speak. I absolutely love your dolls. I am a doll collector of porcelain dolls. Since I started Bulldogs, tho', I have not done much collecting. I just enjoy the ones I have. My favorite ones are the ones I got at the Renessaince(sp?) Faire. My living room is done in Medieval, and my dolls are a part of that. To keep this on Bulldogs, none of my dogs has ever bothered any of my dolls even if I had them standing on the floor. They just seem to know that the dolls are special and are not to be touched. Kiss Cody for me!!!
Who's spirit were you incompassing with the dolls. They are great. Where did you get your inspiration for them as to know what to use on each one. Is the pipe embossed or how is it done. Great looking and love the mirror. Where do you show your work. Do you sell it in a shop somewhere? I know you didn't expect to answer all my questions so sorry but I love it when something is made from the heart with their hands.
thanks Jane..and good to see you
I have been missing your posts...hugs from your kindred spirit...smile...ce
