the office is back in from the weekend. maybe they can come up with a plan to get someone out there to get them. will not be a fast fix..that far out from shore though..a 3 feet of ice if all fails I hope they get out the coast guard asap. but that might not happen right off the start either..they are super busy out there getting other ships in that need to get back in first. the ice is really bad this year..and the season ran longer then usual..they are usually done the 2 week of Dec. so this is way long due to the ice delays. hope to hear something this am. or I can try and call him again myself.. thanks for your support it means lots

Its a vet procedure. They are gassed out and the nail is cut back in the quick, with the tips being cauterized with a laser. It takes one time to get a baseline established, but after that regular dremeling should be good. Our boy, Winston refuses any and all attempts for anyone to cut his nails, so I really have no choice, but to take him in for a laser every 5 or 6 months. He gets an antibiotic shot, and a mild pain killer shot, while he is out, and has never limped or shown pain from the procedure. I know gassing bulldogs is a sore subject with everyone, but when performed by a competant bulldog vet, I am comfortable with it. If she accepts dremeling, thats great! progressively doing it, should shrink back the cuticles. Either way, shes a cutie, for sure.
Perserverance isn't a long race. It's a series of short races, ran one after the other.

I have not heard of that technique, what does it involve? She just had her nails dremmeled for the first time last week. she did really well, so I agree she is ready again. I didnt want to start out on the wrong foot, so to speak, so I dremmeled her nails on the side of caution. All her nails are white so I can see the pink quick, it extends quite far. So tomorrow is spa day for Josie and she will have beautiful feet again. thanks for looking, and she really is a sweety. Tamsen

Theres a spot in Heaven for folks like you, and a spot somewhere else for the POS! Whewwee, don't get me started. Oh, btw, there may be some vets who can laser her nails. Bet that would make her feel even prettier! What a sweetheart.

she just had her nails dremmeled last week, she needs them done again as it was her first experience with a dremmel. she is really good with her feet being handled and she has no fear of the dremmel so tomorrow will is spa day for Josie Louise. Thanks for looking. Tamsen

Please cut her toenails (dremel?) as its not just cosmetic...the toes splay with long nails which allows dirt/stones to collect between and under toes.

yes she is a rescue, she was a puppymill mom who escaped and then landed in "jail." she was in a shelter in central california when my local rescue in Reno went and got her. the POS who owned her tried to get her back from the shelter after she was rescued and he was told no way, and threatened with animal cruelty charges. she won the longest tail award here on BDW, tee hee. so she is my happy little tomboy and we love each other to pieces. the sun rises and sits on each of us for the other. thansk for asking. Tamsen
WOW !! Thank God she has you. She looks so much better and happi
