What a precious little lady.

she went in for a spay and we found out she had a hypoplastic trachea. Around a size 4, which is almost as small as a cat. She was spayed and had her nares enlarged to help her breathe better because they were pinched. She was at a bullie vet and did great during and after the surgery, came to and was up and about with no problems.

The next afternoon she developed severe diahhrea and they wanted to keep her in case she needed fluids. Around dinner time she began to vomit and aspirated. Vets were right there and immediately began to work on her. Tried for an hr to save her but her heart just gave out.

We concluded that she had a fatal reaction to either the pain med or a/b's she was given since she was fine for 36+ hrs after the surgery, which to us all, ruled out an anesthesia reaction because she was up and fine for 1 1/2 days after the surgery with no problems. We figured whatever it was had to work it's way into her bloostream before she developed the reaction.

what caused her to pass away at such a young age? She was absolutely gorgeous.

no relation. Libby passed away Dec 2000 at 6 months old. She was the same coloration with a black mask as Lincoln is. I thought I would post pics so people can see what a black mask pup looks like right after being born. That and I was feeling lonesome for her and missing her today
