You could always do the physical therapy and massages at home - even without the water therapy. It would help work the muscles and increase the circulation.
Poor kids - I just hate seeing them in discomfort.

tolerate it or get too stressed and try to snap at the therapist. He is not very complacent, but it's something to consider trying and see if he goes for it. Actually I just looked at the cost of buying a hydrotherapy machine...$28,000!!! WOW.

BTW - Kano was also diagnosed with severe arthritis (I was surprised!). She had her first aquatherapy session the other day. The vet started with warm compresses, did massage and stretch exercises, then showed me some physical therapy to do with her. After a session in the tank, she ended with cold packs and more massage. I was ready to sign myself up! lol
I've had Kano on joint supplementation since she was a pup. The vet didn't think Adequan would help her. If we need to, we also have the option of cold laser treatment.
Kano loved her treatment (passed out on the way home).
