Angus has this one whisker that twist up and pokes him in the eye. (Only one) Is it ok for me to cut it. I have tryed everything short of my curling Iron to make it go the other way...
Usually most don't bother to cut if their dogs don't show but I always trim Sumo's. Sometimes they start to curl up towards his eye. I also cut the one above his eye because they curl down.
Just be sure to use a childs safety scissor with rounded tips. And if you cut them too low, they will feel like needles when they start to grow back.

I actually trim his whiskers on occassion for cosmetic reasons. Its funny but Spencer likes when I do this to him. It is ok, a dog's whiskers are unlike a cat's sensor whiskers.

I've kept Arthur's whiskers and eye (brow) hairs trimmed since acquiring him. He lays or sits still now, but had to do it while he was sleeping to keep him from flinching into the scissors early on.

is just a personal like or dislike..but it doesn't hurt them....and they do not use them as little sensers like cats do...if it is irritating the poor baby's eye do clip it...ce
