Right after my husband came home we went up north to visit the in-laws...
Then my own mother and grandma came over from Germany to visit for 3 1/2 weeks...they are leaving on friday.
We have also been very busy with the house. We redid the carpet in 3 bedrooms, picked out tiles for the bathrooms and laundryrooms and laminate wooden floor for all the rest of the house...lol.
We will also convert the huge garage into a room...it will be a room that has windows on all 3 sides....only one wall is attached to the house.
So we had to get lots of estimates.....
We also had to pick out a garden shed (more like a lil house..lol) for the stuff that is currently in the garage....and then we also had to replace the central air/heat, since it wasn't big enough to cool/warm the bigger square footage....all of that took countless trips to pick out and decide on things.....and countless people coming to the house, installing carpet, central Air/heat, giving estimates for the addition to the house.
My dear Mom paid for the garage/shed/and central air/heat...isn't she a darling????
It took all our savings for the updated flooring...
Of course there were minor problems popping up with all of it....ugh, and it will prolly go on like that, too.
The construction is supposed to start in one week or so....yet the shed won't come / be built until end of june....oh well.
We took a class on how to lay ceramic tiles at home depot....those classes rock...hehe.
I think we will try to do that soon.
My sister and her family will come in July ...then my brother will come, too...now he is very handy, and will lay our laminate floor...he would do the tiles too, but i don't want to work him so much on his vacation...
All animals here are well...People too...
I often think of you all, and sometimes sneak in here to read the board...it still is my sanctuary.
Someday i will have a bully again, and until then and from then on, i will stay around you great people...
I cannot reply to very many posts right now, just let me say, i luv ya all...
And i wish everybully good health and lots of treats.

Yes, I agree about the Middle East situation, and we don't want to get a political thing going again. However, it doesn't stop us from being proud of our servicemen, and of the sacrifices the families make.
Don't forget Lu, we are here for you. Hey, thought about coming out to Las Vegas for the shows in October?? Going to be a lot of people from Bulldogsworld show up. Love to see you, and if the hubby is still here, bring him along for some fun.

the reason he got to stay is that our unit got word that they are ALL coming home shortly...
Well, after they pack all the copters back up and get them on ships.
This is really good news, but the downside is, that they are coming home because most likely they will go back to afghanistan before long, to relieve the guys there.
Hubby said he is NOT looking forward to going back to Afghanistan again, cause he thought it was much more dangerous for them there, then it was in Iraq...
I'm glad our guys are coming home...they are in BALAD, and there were a few incidents there recently.
Gosh, i only wish everybody got to come home soon, but i fear that the middle east will never be really stable, but i don't want this to turn into a political discussion...

i strongly recommend the classes at Home Depot...the guy who was holding our class was SO THOUROUGH!!!
It is just much different to see it being done, then to look at a book.
The class will save us much sweat and trouble, no doubt, as we learned a lot of tricks and tips. I even cut the tiles (with a tile cutter and a wet saw) and layed the tile...
The class lastes almost 3 hours..lol, i didn't expect it to be that long, but i'm glad we went. I will go to their "laying laminate flooring" class, too, even though my brother will do most of that...The classes are free, and you really learn a lot...
I was really happy to see you asking about me the other day...you are such a sweetie...
I'm only sorry i only just got to reply.
They told us early last week that hubby had to go back that week. Then they called the very next day and said he DIDn't have to go back!! yay!!! i wasn't looking forward to deal with all the construction and the contractors on my own....althought by now i'm used to dealing with anything that might come along in life by myself...lol.

I do remember the situation now. I remember you posting all the things you were doing to ease the depression of your other dog. I think that was the best Choice after all the measures you took. I am SO pleased to hear you gave her to a loving family and all is well.

he is still doing great, is in a great family with children and another bully girl to play with.
He is turning out gorgeous and they are contemplating showing him...
We couldn't keep him, because my other dog got very depressed and stopped eating and lost a lot of weight. I tried for a while...all the tricks and tips i could think of, but it got to a point, ( after a couple of vet visits to rule out illness) where i had to put the wellfare of the other dog first...
But i'm glad that Harley found such a awesome home, even though i still miss him...

And you'll have to let us know how all the construction goes. I really want to know about the tile floors you are doing yourself. I've thought about doing those Home Depot classes to be able to do our own.
So, is hubby getting to stay for awhile??? Hope so, and you are enjoying all the visiting.
