I'm having anxiety - please help... ):

I feel really guilty and anxious about leaving Leeloo home in her crate while I'm at work. I leave at 9am and usually get home at 5 pm but now I'm also starting a class Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30-9:30pm (of course I'll go home in between work and class to play with her, feed her, take her out, etc... Darren (hubby) doesn't go to work until 3pm but does a lot of errands out of the house during the day so sometimes he only takes her out for 20 minutes or so at at time every few hours. Thoughts... ):

I guess I was lucky

my hubby was home all day when we got Theo so I did not have to worry, but I did run home every 30 minutes to see my baby. LOL good thing I work so close to home. Chirstina she will be fine and they can get into so much you are doing the right thing.

No

But I am getting ready to go back to school....

I was working all day with my first bully and I would cry on the way to work - no joke. I would RACE home at lunch, feed her, play and not even have time to eat before I would RACE back.

I know how you feel. When I go back to school it will be hard because when they aren't entertained, they sleep and then they will be wired at night time, when I need rest....

She's just 9 weeks, so she probably sleeps all day while I fret

Are you at work all day too?

I miss her. ):

I know

One thought. I have the same issues here. How old is she? You could give her an area to play - but if she is like mine, she will most likely sleep the whole time anyway, so keep her in the crate. I keep two out in a "dog proof" for the most part - area. I resorted to keeping the trouble maker in the crate because I realized that everytime I got home, I had a mess to cleanup. And I thought about it this way : if I come home to a mess, I will be strung-out and they will not receive the best of my time, patience, and love. By coming home to a clean house, I am happier to see them and we can play! I would concentrate on making the time you are there better quality time with her, then you won't feel so guilty.

I know.... I feel guilty too. But it's for LeeLoo's own good

The humane/mother in me makes me think it's cruel to leave Leeloo caged up all day. But, you shouldn't feel bad. If you leave her free, she'll get into all kind of trouble.... When she grows up and knows the house maybe you can leave up baby gates, but for now it's for her own protection.

Besides, they know we love them. We protect them, feed them, take care of them when they are sick, play with them.... I grapple witht this everyday, but we do this little deal, where she'll stick her paw out the cage and we'll touch..like saying: "Bye Bye Mommy". She learned that I always come back and that makes her happy.

Besides, if you didn't work...you couldn't afford to keep her (Bullies are real monet pits, aren't they??)

Don't worry so much...

I felt the same way too until I went to the vet. He said it actually works with their natural instincts to be crated. Since in the wild they would be in the cave all day until their mom came home then they would go out... Leelo will be fine, plus now more than ever she will look forward to your returns. With many happy globbers to boot.

Thanks... ):

it's so hard... I need to win the lotto so I can stay home!
