Some of you may remember our oldest son works as a security contractor. He has provided security in such places at New Orleans, during Hurricanes Ike, Rita, Katrina and Gustav in 2005, and Texas in 2008, attempting to prevent looting, rapes, robberies and assaults as the people in those areas were trying to recover from the devastation. Well, now he will be leaving in the morning for Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, to provide security for airplanes delivering medical and food supplies to the impoverished island nation. You may not have heard the story because certain parties don't want the public to get the word of just how dangerous the situation is becoming. A lone pilot landed his aircraft filled with supplies and couldn't offload for several hours. He was instructed to park his plane at an area toward the perimeter fence of the airport where he waited for clearance. A band of local people, desperate for anything they could find, breached the fence, killed the pilot and completely stripped the aircraft before anyone knew what had happened. This was only one example of how unstable the situation can become, despite what you hear from the media. As parents, we love our son and are so very proud of his selfless efforts to assist those who are in need of aid so far away. The Warden and I would appreciate you keeping Robert in your thoughts and prayers as he undertakes this next assignment and once again goes in the face of danger. If I sound too dramatic, it's because we love him so much. Thanks for reading this. No rum tonight. We're already too overcome.
Sending prayers for your Robert
and all of the guys and gals who take on the tough jobs, not for glory, but just because they have to be done and they are unselfish enough to do them. God speed, Robert!
We will be praying for your son
I hope that the situation improves as more supplies arrive in Haiti. He is very brave and we appreciate his work.

ask and you shall receive....
Private contractors get a bad rap for the spin the media puts on these "incidents." I fully support you son risking his life to do the honorable thing and help others, if he is endangered then his life is more important than theirs! He is in my thoughts and he is doing the right thing by helping instead of enabling! May the blessings be and god speed back safely
of course BIll.. thank him for being such a brave and
self sacrificing person.. he obviuosly had some wonderful parents :O) Prayers are on the way !!!!
