I know it's early but...
Submitted by Krazegurl_ds on April 21, 2010 - 12:34amI'm so excited it's my night off and i was trying a new command on Dozer, i got him to sit and stay and i was able to leave the room and he stayed and didn't follow me after only 3 tries. Yay!!! My baby is the smartest bullie in the world... (at least i think so,lol).

when teaching a deaf dog all you use is hand signs..
Gus is great with them...
Bella and the other hearing dogs do great with them too
very easy for a them to catch on too.
they all know their verbal commands but the hand signs now as well

and btw..bulldogs are very very smart..
PS: About hand signals..
They seem to be easier to teach than verbal commands. I was able to get him to stay easier with a hand up in a stop position and come here from a sit was way easier with a hand signal. Also i got him to do down into a laying position with me standing and just making a down motion with my hand from my chest to my belly button. Sorry to toot my horn i'm just so proud of my baby...
