I have a question about weight............

I have seen a lot of posts about bullies weighing in at 50 to 70 pounds. Everything I have read says that females should be 45-50 and males should be 50-55. I am curious because Diamond is over a year old and still weighs 46 pounds. Should she weigh more?

me too!

Jasmine is 14 months old and also weighs 46 pounds

Weight

Actually, if you read the official bulldog standard, you'll find that an adult female should weigh about 40 lbs, and an adult male about 50 lbs. Sue is correct that few seem to meet that exact weight standard, and most are on the bigger side.

Personally, I prefer a bitch somewhere between 40-45 lbs, and a male around 50-55 lbs. More importantly, the dog must not be too fat or thin. Keeping a dog at a healthy weight is much more important than meeting the weight standard. There is no perfect bulldog that meets the standard in every way... of course, our babies are all perfect in our eyes.

She's perfect!

Lots of bulldogs today are bigger than what the bulldog standard says they should weigh. My Opal is 62# and she's not fat..just a big girl.

As an adult my boy Higgins weighed 50# soaking wet.

Her weight is fine!
