I have a couple of questions and need advice from my bullie-family...

1. I found a flea on Leeloo!!!! Is she too young to give her advantix or one of those? What do y'all recommend?
2. Is it too soon to get Leeloo a pool? (she just turned 11 weeks yesterday?) What about taking her to the beach? I want to make sure she's not afraid of the water for when we get a boat (NOT anytime soon, but a girl can dream!)

leeeeloooo

Hey Christina
Yep I would start using the flea stuff on Leelo, it's not to soon, we are using Frontline on Gert already.

As far as the pool - definitely get her one, then she wont be so scared of the water once she gets older.
Glen doesnt want me to kill his new lawn with a pool so Gertie loves to swim in Milos big water dish lol!

Just keep an eye on her, I notice since Gertie is so small that she gets cold soooooo quickly!

I would hold off on taking her to the beach before she gets all her shots, unlike me the bad mother I've been. I have taken Gertie to the beach, she gets her last shots this weekend - but I take her to a private secluded beach that dogs really dont go to,and I dont let her walk around just plop her right in the water!

Have fun!

Frontline or ...

Puppies need to be at least 8 weeks for Frontline, and Advantage both. I don't trust any treatment to really last the 3 or 6 months that is advertised.
Arthur gets his Heartguard and Frontline each month, and has since 8 1/2 weeks old. Never had problems with fleas or ticks. (Lots of both here in MO)

Good luck,
gregg

Been so busy

at work. Not much time to post but have been lurking. I agree with Ce, plus all dog parks/beaches we've been to in Broward require a Rabies tag. May be the same for Miami-Dade. Call us when your ready ...we'd love to meet you!

Thanks ce, I was feeling a little sad that no one was answering.

Yey for Ce!!!

my opinions.....okay?

as for a little pool with a couple of inches of water ..and of course you right there..awesome...she will most likely love it..and it's a great way to get her used to the water and cool her off in hot weather...
...as for the beach..I'd hold of till she's had all sets of her puppy shots at least...before I took her to many places...she needs some time yet to build up her immune system...
as for the boat..yahoo and yea you ..I hope it docks in your life very soon...dreams are just visions of our future ...smile....ce
