Kofi and I have completed our move. She really adjusted better than I expected, and we are making do till we get things together.
Kofi has been on Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato for quite some time. She has always done well on it. About three weeks ago, she developed some spots that the vet said were fungus. She just prescribed Malasab shampoo. I did clorox and water for a time, but have been lax during the move. Also, she has been extremely gassy. This has been for about the last month. It seems to be getting worse. Food related? Upset because of the move? She doesn't seem to be itching.
Thanks again for any help,
Carol

Hi Carol...
Thanks for asking...Dolly's eye seems back to normal. I'm still medicating it & the vet wants to look at her again next week but I think she's OK.

My husband has a ways to go yet...his surgery was just last Wed. We were both thinking pressure would be relieved on the nerve to his leg & he'd be pain free & walking around like always. But that's not the case yet. He also goes back to his doc next week. Not fun!
You'll have to post some pics of your new digs!

I just changed foods again *sigh*
I had been feeding NB sweet potato and fish but the dogs weren't doing well on it. I don't know if they changed the formula or what. I changed them over to Taste of the Wild wetlands formula and it's only been a few days but (knock on wood) so far so good.

Thanks Judy, How are Dolly
and hubby getting along. I see my sweet Kofi's face in your picture

Thanks so much guys! I fear she's
been neglected the past few weeks, but I'll make a change ASAP. I'm so anxious to get settled and post pictures. Have walking pneumonia at present, but we're gonna get things together.

It is really a comfort to have caring support here on BDW.
Kofi and I are sending cyber love to all our friends.

I don't have any answers for you but I hope Kofi gets better asap.

Glad to know you're all moved & getting settled in.

Hi Carol!
I would say the same as Elaine. Time for a change! I always try all the flavors in the brand I am feeding if I find I need to make a change. If none of those work in that brand, only then will I switch to a totally different brand of food.
Good luck!

you know what I'm going to say..
try a different food. Dogs can do well on a food for 6 months or even a year and then develop intolerance. It happened to Junior. He did well on NB Fish and then started to have skin reactions. Red creases between his eyebrow area, red ears, red between toes, alfalfa smell on the top of his head, and I forget what else. I changed to NB Duck and it went away.

I don't rescue animals because I want to feel better about myself, or morally superior to anyone. The best part of my life with animals is the humility they teach and the humanity the foster.
Roxy's gas went away when I changed her food. I tried her on NB Duck and she got gassy. I put her back on i/d and no gas. However, I think her right ear is flaring up. I'm trying Zymox in the ear.

I have mentioned this before
and I really do wonder.....since it is SO common for dogs to do well on any one given food for a certain amount of time, then suddenly have issues with it, why would it not be better to just keep changing their food? Variety is better for them anyways, and as long as you avoid certain ingredients you know they don't tolerate well, why not switch with each bag you buy? Audrey gets a different protein every 8 days, we rotate between lamb, beef, pheasant, turkey, and even with her sensitive stomach she never has any problems when it's switched. Canned dog food also has different formulas, and it's very common to give dogs different flavors frequently, sometimes every day. Just curious....
