in Myla not being potty trained and being bigger than they thought and being part pit and they say she is in heat...they even asked me "Was she really living outside without shelter?"...YES THEY ASKED ME THAT....No...I lied...how ridiculous! I worked so hard for 48 hours up at night on the compluter...making calls, I NEVER deceived anyone...I had only seen this girl ONE time and only knew what I was told....she had pups in the summer, which I told them all...and was on our way to take her a pen and dog house when I got their email...my husband was actually in my office with another man from work, ready to go get them....I guesses at her weight...she is TINY compared to my big babies...so I missed it my 10 lbs...and I saw NO signs of her being in heat....no blood in our car, no backing up to you or raising the butt...how was I suppose to know she was in heat...and I have only the info I was told...that's why I sent pictures...I don't know what all she has in her...I told them I'd take her back if she was too much trouble...now I feel like I should have left her alone, at least , EVEN IN THE COLD, I felt like the man was nice to her and fed her and talked sweet to her..he's just old-school about dogs being outside...now she's somewhere else where she's not wanted....WHAT DO I DO NOW?...MY HEART IS BREAKING AGAIN! I should have stayed out of it all together instead of trying to help her...I made things worse
you did NOT make things worse for her!
you found a rescue group, and if they are unable to keep her they will most likely have a very good network of other rescues to pull from to find the right group to help her. You know in your heart that a dog left outside 24/7 will become sadder and sadder, never mind the cold and being harrased by males while she's in heat.

Cathy
when she first came home
Thanks!
Good Plan, Ela1ne...
And maybe the owner would agree to move her into a garage or shed to give her more protection for the winter.

is it a boston rescue group that has the dog right now??
just curious about that
thanks Penny ..did not realize that..
I thought they were all no kill shelters
but guess I was wrong
sorry for the misinformation..
Oh goodness!
We hope everything works out for this poor girl!! You did the best that you could for her and you don't need to beat yourself up over it. You have been wonderful to her! Hugs to your babies and BIG smooches to PollyAnna's Ace!

to give yourself some peace of mind
maybe you could kep in touch with this lady and tell her if she has any problems or reservations about this little girl to please call you before she does anything else, that way tyou would have first chance at gtting her back if need be. please dont ever think that you did not do enough, because you did everything right.

Pat
spca in cqanada kill too, they only have so much time to place a dog and if not unfortunatly they kill them, that girl needs to go to a breed related rescue group
![[linked image]](http://i333.photobucket.com/albums/m389/ammamom2008/GetAttachment1.jpg)
I'm sure she is safe and being taken care of...the lady who
came to get her would, in my opinion, never harm her in any way...it's just that I felt so awefull that she seemed too much trouble...heck, aren't all rescues a little trouble...they all need vet attention don't they?...I've offered to get her back and try again

That's how I found this rescue group...searching Boston Rescues
In Canada they are no kill shelters..but did not know that about
well that is not likely an option then
what a boton rescue group
since the dog is part boston
I worked with boston rescue years ago and they are pretty good about their rescues..
just a thought
and some of them were part pit too.
could do a search on the internet for a boston rescue group near you
Suggestion
Ifyou cannot place her safely, and cannot keep her, speak with the former owner and see if he will agree to have her spayed (get info on a subsidized program most county shelters have available for low-income homes) and return her to where she was given love and care. Its difficult enough to cope with cold for a healthy dog, but one who is vulnerable to being bred again and the stress of carrying a liter in the winter might be enough to undo her...so if you can make some progress in her life with a spay, that may be all you are able to accomplish here.
Re: wow..this story is soo sad..
Please do not take her to the spca--don't know how they are in NC but in NY they are a kill shelter. When my kids were little we went and found a beautiful husky that the kids fell in love with. We were waiting for quite a while for them to bring her out and when I finally asked what was wrong.they told me they put her to sleep because she was in heat! Needless to say we were all devistated.
you did the right thing
you helped a girl that could not help herself, speak to your hubby about taking her back, or go see if she is ok, where did she end up??? can you contact them ?

dont ever feel bad about helping an animal, you did more than most people ever would.
wow..this story is soo sad..
can she be rehomed through an spca type of place there.
wander if that type of shelter setup is best..
they do a good job of rehoming animals..
YOU tried your best..what else can you do...
kuddo to you for trying..
