Im trying to debate if I should switch their food over due to Gert's tear stains - Milos been on Eukanuba for three years now and doesn't have any tear stains.
Those of you who are on Eukanuba do your bullies have tear stains?
Is Natural Balance and Wellness a way better food, is it worth it to switch over? I prefer not to as I think those two brands are tuff to get over here.
Thanks
give him some canned pumpkin in his food. nm

Kris can you tell me more
about the vinegar and water for yeast infections? You can email me if that is easier! Thanks!!!!!

Tears stains - and Eukanuba
I have to feed Maggie Eukanuba prescription low-residue.
I used to feed wellness, but I think it is really rich....The healthy gang eats Nutra - chicken and rice.
My vet just told me last night to use vinegar and water to clean tear stains to correct the ph level - same thing for yeast infections...hmmmmmmm.....

Re: please answer me this-
I clean her nose wrinkle once a week and really don't do much else!. I do add Missing Link and add in eighter boiled chicken or liver to change it up for them!.
Nigel is on Eukanuba and has tear stains..we had him..
on wellness, so he had diahhrea even tho we switched very slowly on his food changeover..so it was back to Eukanuba and tear stains
Thanks! I was kind of wondering if that might be it!! n/m

Eukanuba
Personally, I like to use Eukanuba when my bullies are pups. I continue to use it until they are ready to switch over to adult food. Then I use Nutro. I have not witnessed any problems with tear stains, but I clean their faces daily.
Wellness,here.
We use the chicken, but have used the lamb. Sometimes use Canidae if she gets tired of Wellness. She does well on either. No tear stains unless eyes irritated. I irritated them once with shampoo and it took them a while to recover. Now I use a washcloth to wash her face and to rinse it to avoid getting soap and water in her eyes.
We use Wellness and.......
Lily still has tear stains. They don't seem as bad as when she was on Natural Choice. I have tried to keep putting diaper rash ointment to lighten.
I agree,
Bosco had the worst stains on Nutro. No matter how much i cleaned his face it was always raw and dark brown. Now he has little to no stains (when i dont wash his face he has stains)

give the girl some Liver
on her food. They don't need as much food so she might not be eating as much since she doesnt need it.

We use wellness..
and Baby hates it. I'm thinking about switching. Her tear stains did go away(she was on Nutro). Maybe see about getting a sample pack first. We're stuck with a 15lb bag that she SLOWLY eats.
Re: How Many People here use Eukanuba??
I'm with Gary on Nutro! Dottie seemed to get tear stains. I have used Iams with good results but switched both dogs over to Wellness for many reasons and NO tear stains. I really like Wellness!.

I also chop up Parsley and give my dogs a handfull with their food which helps with PH balance. I have also heard of hard water causing tear stains.
Here is Dottie as you can see NO tear stains and she is snow white!
it's a better food
You might start changing them over slow and give them a bag or so to get their stains cleared up. The food has brown rice in it which is good for stains too. here is the link to the webpage. I have them on supermix 5 lamb and rice. It might cost a bit more, but you dont feed as much so the cost is about the same. I dont know how long you are feeding Gert puppy food but it you might just need one bag for her. Good luck...

Wow Vicky your good!!
Just down the street from us!!!
Is it worth it do you think to switch them over?
Gert has a sensitive tummy, Milo loves his Eukanoobies, will it really clear the stains - I've been using Peroxide and Balmax for two weeks and no progress. Should I wait longer?!

We do
but the vet made us, its the KO I think the normal Eukanuba has a lot of fat in it.
Clovis, dog food, and tear stains
Don't know about Wellness, but Clovis never had a problem with tear stains until I started feeding her Nutro, which has red beet as one of its ingredients. Now I keep an eye out for that ingredient and don't buy dog food with it.
She is gorgeous..!!
...what a beauty!!
Dottie is beautiful and snow white but please answer me this-
Do you do any other routine besides what you feed her to keep the stains at bay? What do you use to clean her wrinkles...like Lisa...I am looking for that miracle cure for tear stains...
THANKS IN ADVANCE
